SOLVED: OBD2 port stops working after approx 5 minutes of runtime
Hi All,
This is a strange one, the OBD2 port works fine for everything when in accessory mode. When I start the car it still works, however after approximately 5ish minutes it will stop working and nothing can connect to it until the car is fully turned off and back on. I’ve tried with BimmerLink and an enet cable, a P3 gauge, both exhibit the same issues. Car is a 2020 M4 with an unlocked DME (no tune yet). If anyone has any suggestions I’d be greatly appreciative. Kind Regards, Brett Last edited by bedubbleu; 07-18-2025 at 02:15 PM.. Reason: Solved it |

Update, of all the stupid things. Some "lovely person" put a GPS tracker in the car that was installed in the dash. This was the cause of all the issues.
So, if you have issues with a P3 Gauge or BimmerLink Live Gauges dropping out not long after you start the car, look for something else on the OBD2 port (hidden or otherwise). Thanks again! Brett |
