Question Removing A-pillar trim for wiring

I'm looking to avoid hardwiring to the mirror tap and just wire a dashcam from under the glovebox, up the a-pillar trim, and across the roof trim. It's been done before.

I've seen a writeup to remove that trim piece in a 1-series, but we don't appear to have a screw panel to loosen. I don't want to just stuff wire in there because there's an airbag curtain in there apparently.

Can it come off just with pulling or is there something hidden? I don't want to break anything just yet

Have you seen post #21 in this thread?

Also, there seems to be a difference between the M3 and M4 (I am not sure which one you have): according to the manual, the M4 does not have an airbag in the A pillar.

We've done a few dashcam installs, there's an airbag behind the a-pillar of M4 Coupe also. Haven't popped the pillar of a vert yet.

OP: Good for doing some homework on this before accidentally wrapping the wires around the airbag.

Sorry for the 8-year necromancy - but this is the first post you get when you Google "F83 A pillar time removal" - and Youtube videos are useless for the F8x series.

The F83 does not have an A pillar airbag. It's just trim over a reinforced A pillar. It's the same pull from the top - There are 2 blue clips holding it on, and then the notches in the bottom.

See picture attached.
