iOS 26 CarPlay + iDrive 6 -- Now Playing widget

So I have had no problems at all with iOS 26 CarPlay working with my iDrive 6 head unit. Question for you all:

I will sometimes be in CarPlay but listening to satellite radio through the car's onboard radio/receiver, not using CarPlay. The iOS Now Playing widget will show that nothing is playing, which is true, because I am not listening to music through CarPlay.

My question: is there a way to hack the Now Playing widget so that it shows the channel/song playing through the car's onboard radio? I suspect this would require some form of app or hack, but I figured this community might know. Thanks.

If it’s Sirius XM I’d probably just use their iOS app so it’s seamless in CarPlay

I know, but the SXM app uses wireless data whereas the car radio obviously does not.
