Enabling ASD with Bimmercode

I purchased my 15 M3 with the ASD coded "off". I recently purchased Bimmercode and figured i would try to activate ASD. However, Bimmercode needs a back up to active this feature, which i do not have. can this be done in "Expert" mode in Bimmercode? TIA!

Here is how I was able to activate ASD on my 328i 2016 F30 using Bimmercode: Active Sound Design, then Expert mode (3000 ASD-Configuration), then:
Model Range: F30
Engine: N20B20 (but also worked N26b20)
Audio Level: Hifi (in my car, selections that work are Stereo, Hifi and Branded Hifi. TopHifi/Branded Hifi and High End set my radio/ audio off..)
Power Class: not sure what this means, but it seems to be the level of the power..., so I set it to be TL, which is supposedly the strongest one.
Competition Paket: set as No (didn't try YES yet to see what happens)
Country variant: US and I didn't try any other country yet). Would this change anything?
Construction Stage: later or equal )
7/2015.

After the last update that ASD coding is not working. Before the update I was able to code ASD in expert mode with no problem. I hope they will fix it along with lost sensor values in bimmerlink.

Which part are you having an issue with? Following the posts above, i went ahead and coded ASD ON just a few days ago and had no issues.

I was not able to code ASD for the engine sound that I was able to code before. It looks like some of the coding functions lost.

Also keen on this one. Had my ASD coded off on my old phone, but the backup didn't transfer across to my new phone so I can't restore from backup and would like to manually code it back in.

Sorry I know this is old.

I recently coded the ASD off on my 2016 F80 but would like to re-enable it again.

I followed the above instruction but am not sure which "audio level" (i.e hifi, branded hifi, tophifi / branded tophifi, or high end ) to choose. I have HK audio.

Also unsure about the Power Class and Competition Paket selections.

Appreciate in advance for assisting.

Does Bimmercode not have a single code and on or off function? This is a simple code adjustment...... I coded mine off a long time ago and just selected ....OFF

It can deactivate but to re-enable, I think one has to use the expert mode and configure the parameters.

AFAIK, if you used BimmerCode to disable ASD, you can re-enable it without using expert mode by using the backup of the de-activation to reset it.

Do you know if this reverts any other coding you have or does it just re-enable ASD?

whatever you changed at the same time will revert. The coding history is saved by date as far as I remember. The procedure is described in the manual in the settings section of BimmerCode

What is the reason for all the re enabling? I was under the impression as a whole everyone wanted this gone...

I know right....I would never turn it back on. But if someone has a stock car you probably loose some of the pleasure enhancement (boring) with it turned off. Once you get an exhaust you don't want ASD

Agreed that having the ability to disable ASD is a great option. However, I just would like to be able to turn it back on at will if I want to. As simple as that. To me it just seems odd that one can disable but hard to enable. That's all. So just looking for assistance.

In BimmerCode go to Active Sound Design > Expert Mode (bottom left, it will highlight once selected) > Select 3000 ASD-Configuration > Model Range

Yours is probably set to F020/F021 which is OFF

Here are the options within the "Model Range" section to turn it back on:

Model Range section:
F010 = (M5/M6 Sound)
F080 = (M3/M4 Sound)
F030 = (328i/428i Sound)
F020/F021 = (ASD Off)

Then go back one menu and choose "Engine":

Based on your Model Range selection above, select the matching Engine...

Engine:
F010 > S63B44= (M5/M6 Sound)
F080 > S55B30 = (M3/M4 Sound)
F030 > N26B20 = (328i/428i Sound)
F020/F021 > S63B44 = (ASD Off)

Once you have both of these selections checked, go back to the main 3000 ASD-Configuration screen and click Code.

Have you tried the F010 for sh*ts and giggles? LOL
