Really love the silver rims. Unexpected.

Also, I would have kept the calipers yellow. Would have looked horrible with the rose gold rims, but with anything else (black, gunmetal, silver) and a BSM car, they are

Black wheels are soooo overdone.

Does switching out the springs really inactivate the M adaptive suspension? Doesn't seem like it would.

Yeah, not quite understanding the uproar about the red calipers. As long as they are done professionally and not done like a diy sloppy brush application.

No, it doesn't.

However, when I mentioned why get the adaptive suspension when you were going to rip it right out, I was referring to this:

Quote:
For suspension, we pulled the factory shocks and springs and swapped those for a set of H&R Super Sport Springs temporarily until our other suspension option arrive.
However, on closer inspection of the pictures, it appears they used the stock shocks with the new springs, thus still retaining the adaptive suspension feature. If, however, they eventually get new shocks, that would, of course, remove the adaptive suspension.

Agreed
Stock does look better.

Dropped, with black grills, painted calipers and those aftermarket wheels the car looks like a glorified M435i.

Ok, makes sense. Unless putting in full out race suspension seems logical to keep that system intact.

I might look into slightly lower springs for my F82 simply for aesthetics. I think the stock wheel/fender gap in the front is just a tad too large. Probably try spacer first to give the illusion of a tighter gap.

Spacers will only make the gap look larger because you will see more of the top of the tire. Trust me, my M4 is using spacers right now

Been my experience on other cars that the spacer can help because less "shadowing" from fender overhang, but we'll see.

You agree stock wheel / fender gap too large though? Do you plan on getting different springs? thx

Thanks guys for the comments!

The HRE RS103's are ON! They look great, I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Regarding the painting of the calipers - We are an aftermarket and performance shop, keeping things OEM is not in our nature, the car would just blend in with the rest if it did not have anything else on there. Plus - if you notice, the rest of the interior pieces (such as seatbacks, steering wheel trim, etc) are painted to match the calipers, painting them Gold, or simply painting them red while keeping the gold calipers would just not match up. We understand it is not to everyone's taste, but we haveto try to be different without going over the top.

Get excited to see setup number 3

sorry but the stock rims look the best and if you but them back on with the painted brakes will be real nice.

Dude, you have no taste at all!

I really need to stop reading these threads. This is going to cost me so, so much.

Yellow/gold rims look very ghetto on this black car. Imo.

Interesting that you wanted some gold and, instead of keeping the gold painted calipers, you painted over them and put on a less-than-great set of wheels.

The HREs are a major improvement. The black set would have looked great with the original paint on the calipers.

The drop looks pretty good; much better drop than what these springs yield on an F80.

The red painted seatbacks are a fail, IMO. This car is not clamoring for red. You're forcing it. A better direction is to go CF as it makes much more sense to match the exterior. A CF back will sell much better than one painted a random color.
