20a503 & 20a203 , help please

Hi,

For the last month or so I have been getting 'Drivetrain' popup on the idrive for 5-10 seconds then it vanishes.. Just before this happens I feel a very brief loss of power then all is normal.
This only happens at slow speeds, pulling away, parking etc, not driving the car hard, it never happens at speed above 20-30mph.

The same codes are always left behind: 20A503 & 20A203

My mechanic has installed a brand new 'Turbo Coolant Pump' and a brand new 'Transmission Grounding strap'

The cooling system was also bled etc, Driven about 50 miles since and coolant levels holding well, no apparent leaks

The same error exists, same codes.

I found https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...45286-9999.pdf but after poking around in ISTA my car is running on F020-21-03-545 , target intergration level is F020-18-07-530 or higher.. so this seems fine.

Here's a couple shots from ISTA..

Any help appreciated.

Clearly the pumps are malfunctioning. I don’t know if shorted but your turbos are not sufficiently getting coolant. Do you have a part number of what parts he actually changed so we get an idea if he did everything correctly.

Part numbers 64119484254 & 12427848383 have been replaced.

This issue is still on going, It only ever happens in R,1,2 - never in a higher gear.

It definitely happens more in the rain/wet.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

I found this thread: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1654877

I believe my issue is the same or very similar, I'm going to inspect the wiring to the pump.

I'm having the same issue as well, first time ever getting these two codes after having this car for years.

I've heard it could be any and everything from a dying battery, low coolant, to the transmission-chassis cable under the car not being grounded properly- who knows. Doesn't appear to affect driveability but still concerning.

Will report back if I figure it out.
