Call me crazy and OCD...
I have 2016 with 4000 miles and every three days, when I exit my car, I use Chemical Guys (leather cleaner & Conditioner) and wipe all of my seats, particularly the bolsters and steering wheel. Perhaps I need to find a new hobby... lol |

I use my hand to shield the bolster while getting in and out of my 15 M4 with black merino leather. Bolster has zero fading and driver seat looks almost as good as new

The issue with my drivers seat was with the stitching in the area under the shoulder bolsters as it meets the side bolsters. Its not an area that gets everyday wear and tear and therefore they were happy to replace the entire seat back under warranty. I have a good relationship with my SA in Houston however I don't feel that was a factor in getting this repair authorized.
