Is it odd that the majority of BMW owners seem more concerned about burbles then they do with real world performance?? Not just here but on Facebook too.

lol. Its crazy only a couple posts with dynos and one dude asking about lack of gains and no response from PTF. But as soon as someone asks about burbles its like people can't get enough. I bet someone could make a killing just selling a piggy back that allows people to control their burbles.

+2

It seems like folks prioritize sound over performance. Obviously, I'm the reverse, and I assume the tunes were priced that way as well.

So this means we can switch out the MAP sensor on the intake manifold with a 3.5 bar instead of 2.5 bar?

Stupid question but what would switching out the map sensor do in terms of moving up from 2.5 to 3.5 bars?

Also would this be an oem Map sensor or an after market one, and where would I be able to get one =)

Oem. Higher boost levels are read more accurate with the higher sensor if I recall correctly but 2.5 bar is what 35ish psi?

Sensors are rated at absolute pressure so the following:
2.5bar sensors reads upto 21-22psi[guage]. Absolute-->[ 1bar from atmosphere + 1.5bar forced induction]
3.5bar sensors reads upto 35-36psi[guage]. Absolute-->[ 1bar from atmosphere + 2.5bar forced induction]

Posting to help encourage the release of this software.

Bootmod3 was the first mod I have done to my M2. Definitely worth the money, as the car seems to break loose in 3rd, which it rarely did before the tune. European Auto Source installed the tune. (Great guys to work with).

I initially flashed with the aggressive burble setting. When I left the shop with the new tune, I heard the new aggressive burble which sounded like an AK47 firing off. It scared the crap out of me and I jumped off the seat a bit. I should've turned around and had the guys reflash to a milder burble, but I ended up driving it an hour back home. Nearly every time I let off the gas on the highway, the car would pop and start "firing off rounds." The only time this burble sounded good was WOT and then letting off the gas from high revs and going into a corner. But even then, it was distracting. When I was decelerating passing a cop, I had to push in the clutch to silence the popping. Just a forewarning for those who are considering Bootmod3.

After EAS installed a downpipe, the gunshots were absurd. EAS has now flashed my car back to the stock tune until this new software is out.

Personally, I understand the need to dial in the sound of the exhaust and I appreciate Bootmod3 giving us the options to do so. Please release this great software so that I can have my added power back and so I can turn off the cold start for my neighbors' sake.

Thanks!

Is PTF saying that they'll now support use of a 3.5 bar sensor? So I can finally ditch the jb4 in my 335 that is merely there to interpret the n20 tmap signal?? this would be amazing!!

You do know that burbles are off when in Efficient mode right? So for those commutes, driving by a cop, driving in your neighborhood etc you can just put it in Efficient mode and that solves your problem

Alternatively if you can't not drive in Sport + and can't wait for this feature to be out, you can just pay $50 and get access to all maps. From there choose your preferred stage level non-agg map.

Not on the M2...they're on, and they're loud LOL.

I enable ASD (even tho it's coded out), just to turn off these new BS burbles for the M2 maps...

So in the M2, burbles are on even in Efficient mode? That's strange, if that's the case you guy should submit a support ticket/request update for PTF to fix it. Are the exhaust valves also open in Efficient like they would in Sport+? (assuming the M2 has a valve controlled exhaust just like the F8X)

Yeah...

I have a valve controller open all the time.

I'm over it, plus PTF doesn't modify OTS anymore. Whoever their test M2 car is must love burble because it's just way too much.

Waiting for sliders/custom tune.
