Any 2015's with seats replaced under warranty due to leather quality?

Looking at picking up a 2015 M4 with Silverstone interior.

Almost every car I've seen it looks like the leather is poor quality and wears exceptionally fast around the side bolsters.

Anybody had any luck with having this replaced under warranty?

That's unfortunate a good leather cleaning every 2-3 months would prevent that. Sorry I can't be more help re warranty.

I have a 2015 with silver stone and have the exact same issue on my car. Tried to get it replaced under warranty with no luck. Best you can do now is just clean it and apply leather lotion on it so it doesn't crack more.

It's a mixture of body oils, jeans, pants, hand dirt, cracking, and dye rub off. Happens even with black leather just more noticeable on non black

Almost every generation of BMW’s have this issue on the side bolsters depending on how you get in and out of the vehicle.

It's a light color leather interior that's prone to show dirt and stains. What are you guys seroously expecting?

I don't have this kind of wear, however the stitching along my shoulder rest is coming completely undone. I can understand warranty not covering dirt/general wear and tear but I have a clear defect in the stitching quality.

ALL white/light leather is going to show dirt and wear. Cant avoid it.

Great colour on a lease, shit colour if you're planning to own.

ALL leather colours are going to show dirt and wear, just in a bit different way.

In the OP, it looks like normal wear to me. This Merino leather is pretty damn soft, the side bolsters are big and do get in the way especially if the driver does not slide the seat back before getting in/out of the car.

That seat has held up extremely well to what amounts to abuse by the owner. That said, if the seat was black, you'd see almost no wear on it. With the side bolsters on these seats, you HAVE to enter and exit carefully or else you're going to have wear like this. 2x for silverstone. It has nothing to do with leather quality, which I feel is high in my 2015.

Sounds like this is common across the board, therefore...

Has anyone been successful in repairing/treating/dyeing it to look better?

A good detailer can bring that seat back to life. No dying necessary.

Aside from that bolster, the whole seat looks brownish. You need a good inferior detail OP and then you need to start cleaning it regularly to have rose seats looking silver again instead of brown.

It's a car I'm looking at buying. Specifically wanted YMB/SS with LED's, executive, and carbon roof. This is the only one that has come on the market in 4 months....

I am somewhat surprised that the Dealer has not had these cleaned up and dealt with.

Makes me question the Dealership.

First, a good cleaning and Leatherique treatment will make this look much better. If, after that, you can see that the color has been worn away (vs. just dirt being ground in the cracks) or there is excessive cracking, a local upholstery shop can re-dye the bolster (just ask the BMW dealer who they use for their used cars). Finally, this is completely preventable (despite the color) if you take care how you enter and leave the car.

I'm super meticulous and picky about cars so I had to have that color/options combo. Not really willing to settle.

But you guys think it can be cleaned, treated.

Deal breaker or no?
