BM3 FlexFuel kit install video

Was browsing the toobs over lunch and saw this was just posted. Thought I'd share.

I don't believe these are available just yet, and I've yet to hear anything about pricing, but MHDs version comes in at $500 from bimmer.ecu

Pretty amazing, hopefully more car savy guys can chime in because it seems too good to be true to be that simple of an install haha

The BM3 OTS MultiMaps work with this out of the box. It actually is as simple as you're thinking.

Only considerations I can think of are supporting mods. Running E50 on an otherwise stock car and I imagine you'll pop off a chargepipe.

Easily the simplest solution on the market. My question is filtration as other options provide a secondary filter.

Might not be necessary but interesting to see the system without it.

I for one am very excited for this.

I know it's a new product but can I use my custom 93 tune and custom E85 tune with this unit or do I have to use the OTS multi tune?? Very interested in this product

That’s a good question. I have an OTS Stage 2 93 octane and have been wanting to switch to E85 as well.

Love the idea but I can’t justify it. Have E85 readily available and a custom E85 map. If I didn’t, I’d be all over this.

If you're running the 93 Stg2 OTS tune from BM3 you can just flash to the 93 Stg2 w/ Flex Fuel and you would be set to go.

You can actually flash to that tune regardless (that's what I run) because there will be no on the fly adjustments until it starts seeing/reading E

Are you running that map without the sensor for now?

Looks decent but I still prefer my bend flex filter setup and the install with their new motorsport PNP unit is just like an Awron unit and pretty quick to toss in still. Just my educated opinion, these cars need a low micron fuel filter, especially on ethanol just like the factory bmw cars produced in countries specced for flex fuel.

I think the concern for many is tapping into the DEM...the pro to this kit is the elimination of that. But I do agree having the filter on the bend kit is a big bonus.

What would be nice would be if PTF offered an inline filter kit as well. Itll be interesting to see what they say in regards to omitting a filter. I would even be up for Bend offering a standalone ID F750 inline filtration kit.

I've seen a ton of back and forth on this. I ran an E50 blend on a pure stage 2 N55 for a few years (DI only) without issue. Is it only a concern with higher concentrations of ethanol?

Is it just me or does it look like it doesnt fit below the fuel tank lid without forcing it down? Is the OEM fuel line the highest point??? Won't that eventually rub thru the plastic and create a massive leak?
