I am pushing probably north of 150 WHP more than stock, you guys think the extra rubber in the back will help tame the beast on a track?

Any word on rubbing? Get the wheel off yet? Also after looking at the HRE website how did you get a -47 offset? I dont even seen that listed as an option. Not that I can afford anything close to 2300 per wheel but just curious how you went about getting that offset.

20's are useless on the track and likewise are PS4S's. I prefer a 19x9.5 with a star spec 265/35 PSC2 and for rear grip, a 19x11 with a 305/30 N (Porsche spec) PSC2. 18's would likely have greater track potential aside from they won't fit over CCB's.

HRE Flow Form wheels have fixed width and offsets. I have a set of HRE forged R101LW and flow form FF15 wheels for my F82. |

You’re having trouble with 305s? I’m running PS4S and PSC2 305/30-19 on HRE R101LW 19x11et40 with 1.8 deg of negative camber and have zero rubbing issues thru the full range of suspension travel. My car is also lowered with a MCS 2WR suspension setup and the top of 305s are at the same height as the top of the rear wheel fender arch.

BMW took the 20" front wheels off the CS and GTS to minimise understeer that's inherent with a low profile 20" front tyre. The race versions of road cars M4 GT4, Porsche GT3's etc don't run the low profile street size tyres and all use smaller wheels and taller sidewall tyres. |

I'm not a fan of using words like useless or speaking in such a polarizing way when its not case, you know some forum noob will read this post and think he can't track the car because he is running P4s and 20s which is absolutely not true. |

Personally, I think a set of designated track wheels and tyres is essential for anyone who regularly tracks their car with decent set of brake pads first and foremost. That said, I've seen many buy a killer set of big brakes with street pads and still suffer brake fade after 3 hard stops where decent pads in the stock brakes would have been a far better and massively cheaper option. Big wheels and low profile "street" tyres is a common error of many where the right tyres and brakes is the greatest base modification to result in faster lap times. The last modification is engine power after you've maximised tyres, brakes and suspension. Last edited by RevNev; 04-13-2020 at 10:57 PM.. |
