tuning question?
I had a flash tune done by a shop in Jersey and I'm having trouble getting out there due to Covid restrictions.
I'm not that familiar with the process of turning it back to stock. Can anyone tell me if it's absolutely necessary to go back to the same shop to turn it back to stock? I need to pass inspection, so I have to take off the downpipes and tune it back to stock. Inspection expired 09/31/20 btw...lol |

The shop told me that I had to go back there to switch back to stock. I wanna make sure I absolutely have to because the hours I work and the hours the shop is open do not work for me.
I did this when they had weekend hrs and now they don’t open weekends. I’m in Westchester, NY and the shop is in northern Jersey. |

Dude...yes you have to go back to that shop that did the tune to undo it...if you didn't get the software to do it yourself. Ask if they can do it remotely using your laptop (might need their special cable, maybe not and just an Amazon cable).
You can get a used BM3 license here for under $400, then you can install their pre-made tunes yourself. It's super easy now, can even use your phone. PM me direct with questions.

I probably won’t do another tune after this, unless I do the crank hub first. |

A simple $100 crank bolt capture plate (CBC) will keep you safe up to Stage 2 gasoline tunes. Your mechanic can look for the red tamper proof factory paint on the hub&bolt while they're installing, which means the bolt hasn't moved. The CBC is good enough for most street use.
If you plan to do drag racing (hard shifts) or street race with E85 or Meth then I recommend to do the hub fix beforehand.
