Speaking of the Alpin, you going 255/35/19 on all 4 corners?

That is the current plan. I had really good luck with the stock 640/Conit winter set (IIRC) on my M4 and these test out better than those so I think it'll work out nicely. Those were 18s though so not a completely direct comparison.

Yeah, the amount of low ballers I've had with my HRE f/s thread has been ridiculous...must be new members lol...so I'm probably just going to keep them and put Alpin 255 on all four corners. However, I was just a bit apprehensive about the visual stretch. I know 255 rubber can accommodate a 8.5-10 wheel. There are several guys here who run the 255 Alpin on their 437Ms and have had no issues. People just rave about the Mich, so I'm gonna give it a try

Tire Rack is usually pretty conservative from what I've seen about their fitments so I was surprised they recommended a square setup for the 437s. I've been a Michelin guy going all the way back to my street bike days. They are more expensive, but they've never let me down and deliver what they advertise. Good read, thanks for that. I always loved the GT350s and that flat plane crank v8, but after reading your horror stories (and a host of others) I'm glad I stuck with the manual f82.
I always thought the M4 / M3 was a jack of all trades, master of none, with no other comparable option in the category, making it the clear choice leader for ME. (6MT, 400+hp, semi light weight, good MPG, semi luxury car). |

I'm glad you gave it another try. The ZCP tweaks really add up to something special. I was left a little frustrated with my '15 M4. I've mentioned it in another thread, but I've decided to only buy comp pack models from here on out instead of being an early adopter. The comp pack models are apparently what I want in these cars.

Congratulations and welcome back.
Completely agree. While not perfect, if you want RWD, MT and 4 doors, you are more or less done at the M3 (ATS-V excepted). Amazing that the Caddy dealer wouldn't let you drive their "precious" CTS-V...

This happened to me at Caddy dealers as well when I was looking at the ATS-V and CTS-V. Both cars at different dealerships. Both with a fat discount (I'm talking 10-15% off). They wouldn't let me drive them. I came in a suit from work in my wife's M3 and nothing. Welp, I told them you just lost my business. Sent both salesmen a pic of my F80 when I bought it. Never got a response from either. Weird right? Haha

Thanks! Even though I wanted a manual RWD, had the test drive not been as good as it was I would've considered other alternatives even if they were auto etc (except the ATS-V). I'm obviously glad it worked out the way it did though. |

Congrats on the new car. Welcome back.
Surprised by your caddy exprience. I stopped by in shorts and my f80 when the ats-v was newly released and they let me have at it. Also surprised by your '15 standard suspension experience. Maybe roads are a lot better here in CA. I added more rear toe and camber and went after it Dsc off at DEs. regardless, what matters is you like it and feel it's an improvement |

We have some pretty nasty roads here and there form the winter freeze/thaw and snowplowing. I know they aren't great everywhere, but I'm guessing most in the snow belt deal with worse than average roads. I was just out in Cali from L.A. to up north of Sacramento in June and I'll trade you roads and weather. |

Very interesting - is is super rare here that an owner of a 2017+ F80 with ZCP does not love their car. What the heck did BMW actually do to the 2017s that they had not already done to the 2016s? All I know is it had to be magic - cause I love this car.
