I've been running a stage 2 tune (with Vargas turbos) that yields about 600whp for over a year with no issues. Only upgrade (of course) was the crank hub (also Vargas).

Who's currently pushing the S55 Platform pretty hard on stock engine?

I've been pushing mine for a few years, but only on pump + meth and 260gt plus + meth.

Recently got a port injection setup thats pushing 780whp, capped the torque to 650 though.

With stock rods the platform won't be able to be pushed much harder past 700wtq as far as torque goes. As more R&D and tuning goes on this platform, we'll start to see more people pushing past 800whp on stock engine. How's your M4 running on the Sunoco Fuel?

Big fan of it, it's just around £5.50 a litre here, so makes it very very expensive. Runs a 4.8 100-200 time on that fuel

Sunoco produces some good quality petroleum. Good to know your car is putting out some fast times with it.

I'm wondering... has any difference been noted between pre and post 12/15 cars in terms of durability for high power builds?

That's when BMW changed the bedplate to a iron insert design.

I don't recall ever seeing a practical difference between builds than use the earlier vs later design

If you track your car, keep it below 490ps. That's what the fastest local demo car runs for time attacks.
