That's good to know, i think I'll install cbc alone like you did, instead of the whole kit. My car is PS2+ and like you, running hard, and no issues at all....are you Meth Kit?

Installing just the CBC is what I'm planning to do as well even though I bought the whole VTT kit.

Same as you, bought the kit from a member here but only installing the Crank Bolt Capture. In the future, will sell it for cheap, if i decide not to install it

Yup I have a meth kit as well. I am not saying what I have done is the solution... obviously the keyed crank is best. It has just worked out for me and I think it will serve its purpose till I build the engine to handle 700+ ft. TQ consistently with reasonable reliability.

Our german friends have posted a new VIDEO
They torque the bolt to 100nm plus 360deg. Which is 90deg more but equal to N54. You think we can tighten our bolt 90deg more then install the capture plate? Would there a be a change of the miss alignment of the sprocket/crank while tighten the bolt?

I'd like to share my option that I think is the best value and that's to get an extended warranty. I paid $4600 and it covers 7 years from date of warranty purchase or 100k miles.
I purchased my extended warranty through USAA (had them before for my E60 M5) and never had any issues with claims.
I think this option is hands down the best "bang for your buck"!

How will this work? USAA is only for veterans

Don't max psi have a shop f80 with big power

Edit

These S55 are using MaximumPSI Crankhub

RKtune 1160WHP - single
ARS Kratos 1150WHP - twins
MaximumPSI ~900WHP -S55 ET record holder

There are a handful of individual owners +700

No reported failure after 2 years in service.

Not a bad idea at all. I want to tune mine eventually, so this might not be helpful considering I'd have to take shit off every time I go into the dealer.

I thought I read that USAA stopped carrying extended warranties?

USAA stopped selling them unfortunately. I too am thinking maybe an extended aftermarket warranty is the best option here, combined with a good, non-dealer shop, that has experience working with these warranty companies. Its important they know the correct language, knowing how to speak with these ins/companies is probably like 80% of it.

Directly through them? I called them sometime in December looking for one for an Audi S6 I ended up selling, they weren't selling. Is it straight through them or another company?

Whats the safe limit on a this stretch bolt? Did BMW change anything else from the n54?

This youtube video talks about why its bad to take stretch bolt to a higher limit and then apply stress/heat.

Crank rod stretch bolts are installed per torque spec range and then they are measured for the amount of stretch / force applied to ensure the correct clamping power is being applied. Clearly we don't have a way to measure the BMW.

Could had been time for lunch or he had a few german beers while at lunch. Instead of correct torque setting he used the german gudintite. pronounced good-in-tight. Its how most of my bolts are installed on non-critical items.
