DIY on fuel pump?

Hey guys I recently got the precision racing stage 4 fuel pump.

I thought it would be a simple take out the old one and put in the new one but I was wrong.

There is a two other parts, a wiring harness and a few hoses.

Can anyone here help and explain where the parts and hoses go to? Or should I just take it to a shop. I always prefer doing it myself so I learn something new.

Attached a picture of what came with the box

Take it to a shop. It looks like they need to install the new fuel line, set up the pressure regulator, and configure your current fuel lune as the return line. They also need to setup a boost line tap for the regulator.

Are you adding this to run PI?

Haven't seen a DIY for this yet, but it's doable over a weekend. The hardest part with a dual pump setup is getting it to go in the tank; I believe the shop who did my install had to drop the tank... The lines, filter, and Hobbs switch are fairly straightforward. Otherwise, expect shop rates to be around $700 to ~$1000 depending on where you're located.

Make sure the fittings match whatever you're teeing into for the LPFP line before getting too deep with the install. You can always call/text Gilbert if you have any questions about the install. He's super responsive when it comes to customer support.

If not already, perhaps also check with the vendor for any install documentation.

I will run PI in the future but just the fuel pump for now. My tuner said my LPFP was acting up.

In this case you can use the new one as a drop-in replacement to OEM for confirming your LPFP problem (without hooking any other wires/switches up). If the issue was LPFP "crashing" then you need to wire up the secondary pump (the +\- nuts) and Hobbs switch. Doing the fuel pressure regulator setup is not needed, but setting it up right is optimal.

Don't have a shop do this for four figures. Totally DIY able. Search n54 lpfp fuel pump stage 4 DIY. The process is nearly identical.
