I’ve tried multiple exhaust setups and by far my favorite is:
1. Stock Downpipes
2. AA single midpipe
3. Akrapovic rear section

Also alternatively, Dinan rear section also sounds great with a single AA midpipe.
Which equal length setup did you try?

I had a strange experience the other day. Was sitting in a drive through line and was approached twice because of how good my car sounded. They were familiar with s55 engines and the lack of good sound. They asked what I was running and demanded I sell my car to them. This sound isn’t for everyone, but I too find it more than tolerable and actually most often enjoyable.

SSR DP, AWE track resonated exhaust.

Definitely not over rated. Best thing I did for my M4 is the non-res EQ AA midpipe, aside from the MCS 1 ways.

I guess I'll see what my experiment will sound like with ARM DP's, stock center section with cats (to kill some of the fumes), Dinan X pipe and CS rear muffler.

Yours is the only car that I've heard that actually sounds good with a single midpipe (with the Akrapovic rear). All of the others that I've heard just sound less terrible than stock.

Then again, it's difficult to find a lot of videos with YouTube's money-maker algorithm relentlessly pushing the high-view channels to the top of every search.
There may be others out there that are hidden behind the iron curtain of BMW Invasion infomercials.

I have the AA single mid with a Remus axle back and it sounds great with the stock dp's. Very deep and clean, there are youtube clips on it but definitely one of my favorites from listening to different setups.
