Can you turn up the torque setting so that traction control needs more torque to come on.

Yes unless you've been back to BMW recently and they installed the March update *(unlikely that they would've). I have a 12/18 build M2C for reference.

stutter under load when cold BM3 stage 2

hi all,

I recently had my F32, 435i (19,000kms mileage) upgraded with a few bits and pieces. Aluminium charge pipe, Wagner Catted DP, M-performance muffler and BM3 stage 2 flash. I've noticed in the mornings now that I have a hesitation/stutter at low RPM's under load until the car warms up after about 5mins of driving. I wouldn't think plugs or coils on such a low km car, also the car never presented these issues prior to the upgrades.

Planning on checking:

- charge pipe connections
- check for exhaust leaks at both downpipe and muffler join
- 02 sensor at DP OK?

Will also run some fuel injector cleaner.

Other thing to try might be reflashing stock tune and seeing if it's still there, may exclude any issues with the BM3 map causing it.

Any additional thoughts?

two DMEs?

new to forum - first post.. i am still under warrantee. installed CSF FMHE and Dinan mid and muffler with charge pipes and drop-ins. 2017 M3.

My question is this: Does it make sense to buy a used OEM DME from a wrecked F8x and clone it with my OEM dme after downloading my original stock tune on BM3, then replacing the DME with the "new" one to flash the original stock tune to then flash BM3 OTS tune to it? my thinking is if i have catastrophic problem i can replace the DME and bring to dealer. also does the ship-off cloning process work?

Have been glued to this forum since i bought the car and really respect you all.

@proTUNING Freaks are you all aware of any issue with the driver (left) side mirror reverting to a different position upon stage 1 91 Octane tune and subsequent engine startup? I flashed the map a few days ago and my mirror keeps adjusting downward. I also flashed the GTS transmission map. I am not using BimmerCode and it never did that prior to flashing the stage 1 tune. Any response is appreciated.

Stage 2 ACN 91 vs Stage 2 91 also makes a difference, but nonetheless, BM3 OTS maps are very conservative. You could also increase the octane by adding up to 2 gallons of E85.
You know our gas tanks are 15.9 gallons, right?

Screenshot was based on a quick estimate, and was in no way indicative of the actual fuel tank capacity. IMO, a better way of contributing would be to simply say:

Quote:
It should be okay to add ~2.5-3 gallons of E85 during a full fill up, because the F80/F82 fuel tank capacity is around 15.8 gallons. This should provide an effective increase of 93-94 octane, granted that the E85 fuel source measures at 85% concentration, with an octane equivalence of 105.
It's always smarter and easier to err on the side of caution when you don't know the other person's automotive background, along with other variables that may be in play. Thus, the reason for the conservative 2 gallon additive recommendation. I see no point in asking if someone knows the answer to a question that can literally be Googled in a few seconds.

You're right, Julian. Best of luck with that oil level measurement issue. I would offer some troubleshooting pointers, but it seems you already know so much about this platform

Yea seriously. Trying to figure this situation out. I really wish I knew more especially during this pandemic time as leaving home is very difficult with kids and all.

Underrated comment here, so just wanted to say +1 for not being the only one that actively matches the FB BM3 group posts to posts made on this forum.

I honestly would've suggested you flash back to stock as the initial troubleshooting step, but I didn't want to get called out for another mistake...

glad you got around to figuring out the fix eventually!

Mea culpa mea culpa!

Yea finally glad I figured it out. So random that these little bugs happen when just flashing our cars.

Keen for info on this map switching development

How is it going to function, are the multiple maps being stored on the ecu or will this be on an external obd/wifi type device

Also, does the user choose which 'my maps' they can store

Map switching on my r35 was very convenient, especially before we had flex integration
