Goodbye M3 CS, hello 991.2 GTS

After a little over 3 years with my M3 CS, I just traded it in for a 991.2 GTS. I test drove a Turbo and GT3 too. The GTS seemed like a perfect blend to me - super lively but a better DD than the GT3. The 911 platform is the real deal! 100% usable power, ridiculous handling and perfectly balanced. I’m going to miss the CS in a big way but happy with the switch after only a few days of spirited driving.

Congrats. I made a similar switch a year ago and, as much as I loved my M4cs, I sure don’t regret it at all .

Do you prefere the titanium exhaust?

Good question. I had a BMS controller on the M3 with valves always open, and it was louder on cold start and in general compared to the GTS. The GTS sounds great when flooring it, but I could use a little more volume. I’m looking at sport cats or a rear muffler delete. Haven’t decided yet.

Any reason you went with mk2 instead of mk1? I prefer the mk1 engine, feels more special and likely easier to maintain down the road.

Very nice spec! Congrats. I made the jump last year to a manual 992 S... but kept my F80 M3 as my beater.

Congrats on GTS - amazing car.
I think the Soul Sport cats are best bang for the buck for more sound. I have T and F80, 911 sounds much better stock.

Appreciate the suggestion - I’ve been going back and forth between the Soul sport cats and the Sharkwerks muffler delete.

Nice car congrats!

Also.. wow that is a lot of badging on the back. I feel like most of them only have the GTS, but I know you can option the badging many ways with them.

Thanks! Still loving it 3 months later and no regrets. I do miss the CS though. It was a great car.

I have both an m3cs and a 991.2 4s convertible with the power kit which makes it a gts. I love both cars . The 911 is down on power and torque to my tuned m3 but the launch is insane and the handling is perfect . The 911 is so easy to drive hard on a curvy road and makes you want to drive it more. The turbos sound amazing too even without an intake. Interior build quality is top notch too. I do wish I got the ccbs on the 911 because the brake dust is ridiculous compared to my m3's ccbs . Exhaust is better on the 911 too. It's hard to decide which I like better. Lol. I love both equally I think.

Lucky to keep both! The GTS is definitely easier to drive faster - the M3 always felt on the verge of breaking loose where the GTS stays composed for a lot longer. Both experiences are fun for different reasons. I got the Sharkwerks slip on which gives me a bit more sound volume but not obnoxious. Overall it’s an amazing car and makes even going to the grocery store exciting.

And yeah, the brake dust is terrible! It just takes one day for the black wheels to turn brown-ish. Oh well….
