2015 F80 M3: Tanzanite Blue over Gold Brown w/ Silver Wheels (Updated: 6/21)

Hey guys,

Yesterday I traded in my stripper-esque Mineral White e92 m3; a car I truly loved. Long story short, I had a 2016 F80 on order but it was still in "mock build" status. Yesterday, I thought I'd do a service to the forum by checking out this Tanzanite Blue over Gold Brown extended car and taking a bunch of pics, since the combo is so rare.. ended up canceling my 16 order and taking this guy home instead

Exterior:
Tanzanite blue is GORGEOUS in person!! I had a 2005 midnight blue GTO, so for me, TZB was never really considered as I wanted a color I never had before (in this case SS). However, this paint is nothing like my old GTO; it's

once clean, it has SOOO much depth and the flake pops! The contrast between the CF roof and the Blue is awesome as well. CF rear spoiler and/or diffusor will look sexy on this color.

Gold Brown Extended:
Love at first sight

my original 2016 order was for Full Sakhir orange so I was a little weary of "only" extended leather. That feeling disappeared as soon as I saw the interior. If you're apprehensive about ordering this color, don't be! It is truly fantastic. It is more orange than Amaro but it is very similar to BMW's rust and BMW's cinnamon interior. It is a little less intense than SO leather but a little more vibrant than Amaro, IMO.

Anyway, so far I absolutely love this car!! The 2016 I had on order was 6mt and I totally crossed off DCT from my options list - having said that I'm truly enjoying the DCT in this car

It's still very much manual feeling which is huge for me; plus it will be faster which I can't complain about

The car sounds great in sport/sport+ and with all the windows down I can hear the turbos pretty well! It's a great noise! I love the pops and gurgles it makes on up/down shifts, too. I already ordered a valve controller so I can keep the valves open all the time and keep them closed when leaving for work in the morning. I loved my e92's exhaust sound once modded. Having been driving around for the last month with a stock e92 m3 exhaust I realized 1) Induction noise is still heavenly 2) The stock exhaust is basically non-existent and 3) Cold start is obnoxious lol I had it coded out when I went catless but on stock software holy hell is it loud in a bad way. Regardless, I will truly miss that car as it was my first ever M car.

As for future mods, I will order spacers and black grills/side trim. I want to lower it on H.A.S, Eibach, or Swift but I already have minimal clearance into my driveway at stock height. Other than that, I'm really digging the silver 19s on this car so rims might wait. I'll probably get an exhaust as the sound potential is there.

Now I'm excited to have my car at Bimmerfest East this year for any east cost guys who want to check out the combo in person

I can understand how you couldn't walk away from this color combo, it's brilliant. Odd how the dealer didn't order it with full leather being a full on Individual car. Oh well, it's still brilliant, enjoy!!

Congratulations man! I think the color combo is fantastic and TB looks killer when the sun hits it. Also, excellent list of options. I'm pro 6MT but the DCT sure does give you a darn good shove in your seat

No problem.. gonna post up more in a bit. But man, I was DEAD SET on SS/SO. This, though, just called to me once I saw it. The sales manager said he built it that way because he liked the combo! It was nobody's build surprisingly.

Thanks! I swore off any DCT car as long as manuals were available to order. Well I LOVE that it acts more like a manual than a traditional automatic. My left foot is a bit confused now and sometimes I catch myself trying to heel/toe

but overall I'm really impressed with this trans.. I kinda like it on S3 lol that little kick between shifts is kinda fun!!

Thanks!! Oh boy lol I've been pricing out sooo many mods on here that I want to do but realistically I think I'm going to add the M-perf CF trunk lip at the 1,200 mile service. Then spacers and the gloss black grills, side gills, painted reflectors. After that will come a mild drop by way of H.A.S./Swift/Eibach. Then if I grow bored of the stock exhaust with valve controller I'll add an exhaust. Going to keep it oem+ again lol I wish I could allocate more money to mods but such is life

awesome combo.... I don't know why Golden brown doesn't get more love on here. Its my favorite of all the brown interiors by a mile. but I was a sucker for cinnamon on the e46 so I guess it makes sense. anyways congrats, awesome combo.
