Most of the awkward noises with the MPE seem to be the valves. When locking them open it sounds so good.

MPE sounds good. It's not quiet with the valves open that's for sure. Not as loud as some others but def noticeable. I overall like mine a lot all things considered for what you have to deal with and how awful it sounds stock.
