Anyways, let me know if you have any luck after resetting adaptations! Hope you manage to fix your issue. Also, how do you go about doing this as I might as well give this a try.

Merry Christmas

Can you not use Bootmod3 to flash back to the GTS tune? If all else fails that’s what I’ll do. I like XHP overall so hoping not to have to do that.

You can also use Bootmod3 to reset learned adaptations for the transmission specifically, it’s under the diagnostics tab.

There is a lot of customization in XHP so part of me wants to start slowly messing with one setting, or two setting if I do tq punch/reduction, I’ve just been too busy/lazy as of late. You can also alter the shift maps so maybe I just need to alter the 5-6 up shift and I’ll be fine, idk.

Then there’s always a custom trans flash as well but I have mixed feelings about that given my stock trans and tame mods, seems unnecessary.

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Yep I followed the 2/3rd tq rule originally which would have meant I set TR to 450 since I am running stage 1 bm3 93 map. However, 450 definitely felt slower than 300 for some reason.

Like you I found stage 3 just ridiculously aggressive especially on downshifts which was upsetting the car under braking for example. Stage 2 is much smoother but maybe shifts are a bit slower I can’t really tell anymore!

I think I’m going to uninstall xHP, flash back to stock ECU tune and flash xHP stage 2 back on with default values to see how it responds.

ra2289 I was under the impression the GTS/CS TCU Tune in BM3 is not the latest or something along these lines as I thought I saw several posts with people having issues with this and then getting Kubax or Alex Alpine to fix it with their flash. My car is 2019 so I would have to flash CS but worried about running into issues. Did you use the BM3 GTS TCU tune previously?

Thanks re: reset adaptations, I think I might try this also.

I see what you’re talking about from the other thread you posted in. I wasn’t aware of that until now.

Yeah I used the GTS TCU with BM3 and Kubax but I have a 2016. There were some things I didn’t love about it but I didn’t have any errors or malfunctions.

Greetings
I have a 2016 f82 M4 DCT transmission ,tuned with MHD stage 2 plus RON 95 Oct 91, and had high flow downpipes, drop in AFE high flow air filters, 4 pins Crank hub upgrade.
I have purchased and flashed stage 3 xhp (v1.7) . My only custom changes were Torque punch 4, and Torque reduction 400.
I have noticed on Drive logic D2 (automatic) or even D1 automatic, that when on sport or dport plus... while the upshifting became crisp and timely to some extent, however... if I step on the brakes, it downshifts aggressively moving from D7 to D4 or D3 in a single jump revving the rpm to 4500 or 5000.
It doesn't go through the gears in downshifts but rather jumps down directly 3 to 4 gears!.
Is this normal? I mean doesn't this affect the transmission or engine in a long run...
I appreciate your feedback.

D3 is aggressive regardless of the map you're running but that's where the xHP shiftmap editor can help tone things down. I'd try the relaxed+ option for D1-D3 and adjust the settings to your liking.

Hi guys - so I managed to get Stage 2 TR 400/TP 4 working smoothly with crisp shifts but randomly one day the car just starting shifting weirdly in terms of lag between pressing the paddle shifter vs when the shift would happen. XHP support won't support me and I really want to try and get this resolved.

Any ideas other than uninstalling and re-installing? How do I completely reset so I start from scratch in terms of install "as new" with the 50 mile run in period?

I’d flash stage 3 with reduction and punch off. You’d need ista or a scanner that can do clutch relearns to fully reset.

Are you able to make your dct make the 335is ignition cut noise? I'm trying to see if this is achievable

I feel like that video isn’t really showing ignition cut? Ignition cut is torque reduction though. I can tell you the engine tune has a lot of influence on the shifting.

CRNSYRP I tried your BM3 transmission adaptation method but how do I know if this has worked? Are you able to DM me with a video of how your shifts are behaving? Feel like I have had this DCT sluggishness for so long I've lost all reference of what "good" looks like. Thanks!

I actually have re-done my xHP settings since. I completely removed it (uninstalled) and drove for about a week after doing a full learned adaptations reset. After that entire week of driving ~500 miles I flashed these settings:

Map: Stage 2 v1.0

Shifting Settings:
Use Stock Shiftmaps: On

Comfort/Economy Settings:
Configure Creep: Creep Disabled

Sorry mate only realised you replied now. How have you found it since you did this? Are the shifts as you would like them to be?

Only thing I noticed, and this may be with 140K miles, it takes warming up before it really feels snappy. That could also be the transmission fluid I replaced the factory fluid with (not sure). Overall, no complaints-it's just fine.
