Need advice on ‘18 M3 purchase

As much as love my bsm its so hard to keep it clean. It's a dust/pollen magnet but when it's clean it does bling like no other.

I love my full leather BSM with sunroof... a full leather F8x does look great... I looked at a BSM with CF roof and under light, it gave a bad contrast to me, the roof looked grey, sorta, while the rest of the car shined... whereas the body color roof with sunroof blended in... I think this feeling is specific to BSM, whereas other colors will offer a good contrast with CF roof

totally agree with the CF just looking off on a black car. Gotta stay all black. I rarely see black sedan BMWs nowadays which is strange. Rare color choice

I love the MW, but it needs the CF roof IMO. You can't ever go wrong with the BSM and CF roof.

Personally, if I saw "moon roof" for F80, I would immediately skip that listing.

The gain in headroom for when you have helmet on is huge, not to mention missing out on CF roof would grate me to no end

If you are getting used anyway, since 2018 the first year when the driveshaft moved to be steel instead of CF?

Not sure if that stuff matters to you, but I really felt those touches made the F80 special, and would look into an older car, especially if it enabled CF roof also

I don't think they ever did actually install steel driveshafts in M3s. At least I've never seen one.

Can't go wrong with black and carbon fiber. Doesn't need to contrast to look good IMHO.

As a sunroof "Lover" with MW, I totally agree - to me, the white m3s with sunroofs look bland - whereas the CF roof really makes a light color M3/M4 pop.

That said, I think the CF roof is a waste on a dark car like BSM - doesn't enhance the look at all. And if you love the sunroof and don't track the car*, then heck, get a dark car and a sunroof

On the M3/M4 it is to enhance the look - or as noted, for additional headroom/space for a helmet - other than that, it doesn't make you "faster" and if you think it does, all you need to do is prove it
