Drive train error malfunction
Hey
Driving over the weekend I had the Drive train error pop up on my 2014 F82, got it booked in with BMW and they have advised me it's the injectors causing the problem. "I have priced the injectors up for you, to replace a full set of injectors on your vehicle it will be £2338.04 inc VAT and fitting. There were multiple faults codes in the system for the injectors however none are currently present and have only been logged once 10km ago. 140010, 140001, 140110, 140310, 140210, 140002, 140102, 140302, 140202. Kind Regards" The garage who I have brought the car from are saying more than likely it was the conditions on the day that have caused this error or it's just a sensor as the code has now cleared. I am wondering what other people think as my car is still within warranty with the garage. I only purchased it 32 days ago and it came with 3 months warranty. |

I'd search for a local BMW indie specialist in your area, see what they think. Best to be safe rather than sorry. As for the S55, unless it's intercooler or crank hub related, problems with the engine are few and far between. It's a rock solid engine.
Good luck! |

Thank you
Little update bmw did health check and noticed a oil leak from the rocker cover gasket. Quoted me £44 get it swapped which they then said would cost £900+ anyway BMW also noticed that it had RF tyres on the rear and normal on the front and said this was unsafe and the M4 should only have normal tyres. I thought I would take it back to the garage I brought it from so they could do it under my warranty. Driving back to the garage I brought it from it came up refill with oil minimum 1l, this is the third time that it has happened and I have covered just 1,049 miles since ownership. I know they’re thirsty for oil but 3l for 1,000 miles? Plus the driving I do is not hard driving at all. They have inspected the car and said they cannot see anything, the oil consumption is normal and I’m kinda fussing over nothing but they will change the rear tyres. |
