The ExtremeContact Sport 02's are the 7's they get in Europe. The 7's only come in two sizes to fit ONE merc and and are merc dealer $. We will not get a 7 numbered tire.

ContiSport 7 updates. They are very grippy in dry and wet HOWEVER they have a 240 wear rating, similar to Sport Cup 2. My rears were finished after 10k miles. US guys are not missing out on too much ExtremeContact Sport 02 is a far superior, more rounded tyre, a tyre we don't get in Europe.

That can't be true because the S02s are 340 wear rating compared to the SC7s 240. The tread pattern is also noticeably different. SC7 tread depth is slightly smaller than the S02s but that doesn't account for the 40% or so extra life.
Performance wise, no one has done a direct comparison between the 2 however both have been compared to the venerable PS4S. S02s are similar in the dry and wet. SC7s are similar in the dry but significantly better in the wet I can see why the SC7s make sense in Europe where it's always raining but i can't justify that wear. PS4S remain the best UUHP until they release the PSS5. |
