Tire fitment sizing for 19" BBS LM / EMD springs?
I’ve searched this forum extensively for this setup, but most are running adjustable coilovers and I just haven’t pulled the trigger yet on a set so seeing if I can squeeze by with tire sizes until then.
I’m considering BBS LM in these specs: 19x9.5 +22 19x11 +37 What would be widest tires I can run without having the car sit lower than it already is? For reference just on stock comp 666Ms right now and I don’t want to go any lower. From research I’ve seen a couple tire setups for these wheels specs, but looking for someone who can confirm flush fitment which with a slightly meaty look and not rub at all at EMD Springs: 265/35 295/35 275/30 295/30 265/35 295/30 265/35 305/30 Last edited by lemansbluef82; 12-29-2024 at 12:05 PM.. |

The EMD springs significantly lower the car, correct?
19x9.5et22 are flush but flush is subjective. I find my HRE R101LW with 19x9.5et22 and 265/35-19 MPS4S on the front sit perfectly for me. Could the wheel frontspacing be more aggressive? Yes. Probably a 5-7.5 mm thick spacer would be safe if you’re looking for a more super flush setup. My front camber is set at -3 deg. From my experience (I used a 19x10et40 wheel with a spacer kit to determine when the tire rubbed and then back calculated the offset of a 19x11 wheel), a 19x11et37 with a 305/30-19 on a lowered car will rub on the outer fender. I am running 19x11et42 with a 305/30-19 MPS4S on my rear R101LW. A 19x11et37 can run a 295/30 or a 305/30 with slightly more rear camber. I’m running -1.9 deg so -2.2 to -2.3 deg should work on a car with the rear lowered ~20 mm. As far as aggressiveness goes, I find my 19x11et42 with 305/30-19 setup sits perfectly for me. You could go 5 mm more aggressive (11et37) with a 305 if you run a little more negative rear camber. Again rear aggressiveness is subjective. I’ve seen 19x11et35 setups but the 11et35 wheel + 305 tire width frontspacing sticks out of the wheel well too much and excessive rear negative camber of at least -2.6 deg is required to prevent rubbing. Too much rear tire width contact is lost and results in significantly less grip for accelerating and decelerating. The included picture is sitting on an uneven surface. The rear wheel on the first picture is close to what the lowered rear looks like on an even surface (fender raised by ~1/4-3/8”) and the front wheel on the second picture is very close to what the lowered front looks like on an even surface. |
