I have the cable from when I purchased the tune in June. Just wondering has anybody received a video or any instruction on how to flash back and forth from stock to stage 1?

I edited my reply.

VF clarified the answer below with the explaination of Stage 1 and Stage 2 performance tuning

To answer the original poster's answer.
If you don't and remove the catalytic convertor later, you will get a Check Engine light on unless you have specific programmed software for it.

Same for any performance tuning company.

There may be some confusion as we don't offer an option for "cat delete".

Stage ONE is meant for use with factory downpipes.

Stage TWO and TWO+ are developed for use with modified exhaust systems, but are legal only for vehicles not registered or licensed for highway use.

Hey guys, I wanted to give you an update on the initial issue I had with stage 1 and having a manual. My car is driving much better in first gear now and I no longer am having issues with bucking. It seems to have adjusted to the added torque and I am now 100% happy with this tune.

Thank you for the clarification
I thought it was optional regardless what stage software was requested.

Does the Stage ONE clear the CEL? What do you do for those who just want to run catless downpipes with the rest of the factory exhaust?

From the previous post, Stage ONE is calibrated for use with OEM downpipes.

Those customers looking to run a hardware combination that is not supported by our software will be on their own to research the end result.

If the answer seems vague, it's simply because we cannot advise a customer on how to proceed with using certain types of products that may not be legal for highway use.

When will Sonic Motorsports be able to do everything in house?

I live very close to them, but not willing to pull the trigger until I don't have to send my ECU in the mail. I want same day turn around.

Ok...what's the appropriate Stage to go with on a track-only M4 with only a downpipe?

It's plausible.

I'd gladly have a deeper conversation if we to ever cross paths at a car meet or track event, but the thing that really needs to be understood here is that we develop products for use in specific configurations.

Stage ONE has a recommended hardware configuration, as does Stage TWO, while Stage TWO+ also has an added fueling requirement.

Within those recommendations/specifications we can be responsible to a certain degree for the end result.

Outside of those recommendations is where things start to get grey, and where the simplest answer is that our product may not be ideal for every type of customer.

The brilliant thing about the BMW tuning market is that there are options and customers have choices. We put out a product that we hope entices the largest segment of the market, and all we can do is hope that it is received that way.

The fact of the matter is that it's very difficult to predict a timeline based on the complexity of these ECU's, but even when we aren't talking about it publicly our engineers are still working behind the scenes on a breakthrough.

The immediate goal is to build confidence in the process of opening and closing these ECU's through a qualified and capable dealer network. It's important to acknowledge that we've been very selective with our group of Certified Installers as they will be the ones working with us as we release new tools and processes which continually simplify the process.

How about this for a video..my car (build in my sig) vs. a new gen GT3 shows how strong the VF tune is. Mind you I couldn't keep up with him when I had my JB4. Would get pulled by 1-2 car lengths (depending on how the JB4 was feeling that day lol)

Real street comparison is the best.
