I do not understand why the exhaust is pointed downwards. I saw this on a porsche race car as well. Is it track regulation? Would anyone care to comment please to explain.

Probably just to avoid excessive soot. Plus it looks baf!

I agree, weird to see in some ways.

By choosing M3 you have 4 framed doors instead of 2 frameless windows and if I'm not mistaken the cabin is built taller so you are already committed to a taller roof and cabin designed for that higher seating position.

It's only an inch or something but going from an M6 to an M5 I noticed star if the away

Lovely build. I can see that you've touched almost all the areas to make the M3 track focused. However there re no aero upgrades. A good chassis mounted front spoiler and rear wing can make a huge difference

I would assume this car is also street driven, and that's why it hasn't gone through a deliberate weight saving 'diet'.

Passenger seat, stereo, ac, console...
There is room to loose weight when it becomes a dedicated track car.
