I hadn't seen those Vorsteiner tips - I just looked at them and they look pretty good. Color isn't my #1 concern, although I do want black. My bigger concern is how the AA's stick out past the diffuser - I want something shorter that is about even with the diffuser. The Vorsteiner's look shorter - can anyone confirm the length of them?

Most photos I see have them sticking out past stock diffuser, but with a CF aftermarket one they seem to fit fairly flush....check it out and let me know if maybe I'm just going crazy

I thought the same too but I've seen people with aftermarket rear diffusers on and they should fill up the gaps nicely/sit flush with the tips.

The tips are adjustable. You can push them further in FYI.

yes but they only go in so far.. I dry fit everything before installation and there is not a lot of room for the tip to slide on before it hits the can.

Oh hell no - I am not denying that!! It's the best!! No disrespect to any of the other fine exhausts out there - Awe, Akra, M-Perf and others... some great systems with great engineering and manufacturing resources behind them. I agonized over them all and it was not an easy choice. There is no single one that has everything - my two main considerations being weight and sound. I think it just comes down to personal preference, but AA was the one for me - not the lightest on the market, but I just love the tone.

Hey guys,
I keep getting pm with customers confused about the AA tips that are being offered on vendor's websites and AA's website.

The upgraded AA tips offered in brushed and black are meant to fit on stock exhaust not the Active Autowerke exhaust.

If you would like to get the Active Autowerke exhaust with black tips, go to the exhaust and select black tip finish.

If you already have the AA exhaust with brushed tips and would like to get the black ones instead, contact your vendor.

Those tips look perfect - just ordered mine from x-ph.com (Vorsteiner Diamond Black)- can't wait - that is the final touch for my car... well, I guess nothing is ever really final.. but this is the last thing I was missing... ...for now...

UPDATE: For anyone interested in the Vorsteiner tips, they apparently DO NOT fit on the AA exhaust. I just got this info from Moe at Vorsteiner. Thanks to Mike at X-PH.com for making me double-check this before shipping my order - that saved a big headache. Totally bummed over this, but the search will continue for some good black tips for the AA...

The Vorsteiner tips were made only for the OEM exhausts so they definitely will not work on anything else. Active does provide the option for ceramic coating or you can have it sourced yourself.

Thanks - yes, I'm aware regarding the Active tips - I'm trying to get something a little shorter that doesn't stick out quite as much.
