BMW G80 M3 vs F80 M3 Exhaust Sound Comparison
I had a chance to film the exhaust of the new G80 M3 and did a brief video to compare it my M3 Comp.
G80 M3 has a deeper sound and removes almost all the rasp. F80 M3 has a higher pitch and is much louder overall with crackle and pops from burbles. Both sound good but new G80 M3 has a much more muted and less distinctive exhaust sound.

It doesn’t have the high pitch sound of F80 and the burbles don’t have the crackles or pops anymore. G80 does sound deeper and doesn’t sound as raspy. It’s not a unique note like the F80 was. The burbles are very understated. The sound is less raw which is pretty much true for the G80 overall compared to F80. |

Both sound like crap unless you equalize the length of the downpipes or anywhere after before the pipes meet again. The S58 claimed to take care of it but fell short and it's still a non equal length downpipe design. A stock S55 sounds like a Pontiac.
Equal length: *Keep in mind that this is a thin titanium muffler so the setup is not ideal, any stock or aftermarket SS exhaust will sound cleaner, this is just louder and more raspy/ truck'ish until you get close to redline.

Like my pops and bangs. Another win for the F80.

Love my f80 but the exhaust always sounded like crap. Only reason I enjoyed it was because of the popping. I’ve heard new civics that sound better than both the g80 and f80s with just a catback.

F8x has always, and will always, sound terrible. It's the one single thing I dislike about my F82.
That, and no sync button on the dual climate control. |

Looks like you're comparing F80 base model with G80 Competition model. Shouldn't you have used the F80 Competition model (which sounds slightly different) for better comparison?
That said, I slightly prefer the lower tone of the G8x exhaust. |

Actually, this is a base g80 vs comp f80. Hence why this g80 lacks burbles

The EL make F8x sound Civic with fart can exhaust (very tinny) depending on setup. Need to hear it in person but in most videos - i prefer AA single pipe with Comp exhaust. |
