In the middle of a tune, and my tuner said my wastegate duty cycle is high. Reviewed logs and the Wastegate Duty Cycle is 85-91%.
I checked and re-installed the charge pipes Replaced J-pipe Rechecked all clamps and couplers Rechecked any plugs in the charge and J-pipe Finally, had a smoke test which was negative Besides the high WGDC, car drives fine. What else am I missing/forgetting to check? |

My understanding is that the only other two things it could be is the turbos or the wastegates themselves are slowly checking out.
Are you having this issue while tuning on E85 (E50+)? or also on 91/93? |

Per my tuner, all parameters they’re Looking at are being hit, but just the signals from the wastegate duty is off. |

It could indicate a boost leak, turbocharger failure, or simply that your map is requesting a high boost, causing your turbos to work harder.
It's best to check in with your tuner on whether this level of WGDC is standard for the map they provided you with. They will be able to give the most accurate feedback

I have being chasing same issue here. PS2+ Jordan Tune.
Try to do a boost leak test injecting 30psi or so. Some leaks only appear when pressure is applied. Quote:

Personally, regularly hitting 82-85 WGDC, MHD Stage 1 E30 OTS Tune, E47.... 850' elevation and 70-80 degree weather... Runs like a top, very limited timing corrections and no throttle closures... It is my understanding that 80-90% wgdc are not out of the ordinary on EWG cars like the N55 / S55 and do vary somewhat dramatically based on elevation and ambient conditions.

I’m not sure if it’s appropriate given we are still working through tune? Or if that reveals differences in tuning methods between different tuners? Might be overthinking this but I’d rather wait to both have everything finalized and have permission from Bend before doing so. I will say that Ian has said all targets are being met, just WGDC is a smidge off for his liking. |

Keep in mind, this is the first E50 log from yesterday. I received a new map but haven’t had a chance to flash it. https://bootmod3.net/log?id=64761832ae729b57485c440c |

Here is a link to a recent Datazap log from the MHD tune I mentioned above; for comparative reference. Looking at yours it appears that the timing corrections are bit more significant and do not fully clear by the end of the run. Personally, I notice the car runs quite a bit stronger as the timing corrections clear and the ign advance levels across all cylinders. I have been working with E blends and it has taken me to around E45 to achieve this type of limited correction log on the E30 OTS map. Personally...I don't see much concern with your WGDC as you're below 100 and hitting target... but timing drops in the upper RPM range would be something I'd focus on.

As I mentioned, the log I sent was the first log at E50; a new revision was sent which I’ve yet to flash and log This is a log at E10 but I’m not sure how to accurately compare the timing as he looks at Corrections whereas yours has Timing per cylinder https://bootmod3.net/log?id=645c55ccae729b36ece61c96 |

Not a problem, happy to share my experience on the platform. That log @ E10 shows fairly dramatic corrections throughout the RPM range as well. I personally wouldn't walk away from a custom tune in that situation. Hopefully others will have some more to add to help you through it. It is certainly complex and there is much to learn. I am located in Indiana where we have Shell VPower 93 and plentiful ethanol.... based on what I know about CA fuel you are likely at a bit of a disadvantage there but that should be a consideration of the individual tuning your car.

About the other thing I can think of is spark plugs and/or coil packs? Would that help clean up the timing graphs? The plugs are a year old, unsure about the coil packs. |

For me, plugs and packs did have an impact. I am on stock Delphi coils w/ 17K miles and have swapped to the NGK 97506 gapped @ ~.024. From my initial research most consider that plug a necessity when getting into E blends and higher boost situations. If your packs have over 50K miles I'd consider those as well.
