GTS style aluminum hood advice?
I plan on buying a GTS style aluminum hood soon and have been doing research to choose from where to buy it from but I need some more feedback on these companies
My choices are buying it from suvneer, bimmerworld, horizon, absauto, or ecstuning Anyone out with there with an F82 M4 with a GTS style aluminum hood that could give me feedback on any of these with fitment and quality etc.? |

I’ve gone through this and my advice is to save up for the OEM. But if you are set on it they all come from the same factory in Taiwan so buy from the vendor that has the best refund policy.

Are you sure you researched? There's a thread just a few post down with plenty of info and pics.
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1747177 I'm pretty sure all the replica aluminum GTS/CS hoods are made from the same factory. Different resellers just sell them at various marked up prices. Choose a reseller that's local to you or one with the best support. M3/M4 hoods are exactly the same/interchangeable. If you want perfect fitment get an OEM GTS hood. The aluminum ones are good but fitment is still 9/10 in most cases. The key is adjusting the hood and fender gaps during install. Aftermarket vent trim piece is subpar. Get an OEM vent but test fit it before painting your hood because you might need to do some light sanding of the opening to insure fitment. |

Honestly a good move. The AL hoods are pretty hit or miss on fitment. I went with a AL at first but my OCD ended up taking over and I ultimately ended up buying OEM/Krass Tech.

I bought mine from Suvneer and it was perfect no issues. I also took it to a reputable bmw certified shop and they were able to adjust it perfect!

So just finished my install of the Suvneer GTS hood - by myself Probably would have been a bit easier with 2 people, but if your reasonably strong and have some guts, you will be able to do it yourself. It took me about 20 minutes to get it done.
With the VERY minimal adjustment, it's about 8-9/10 ... Overall pretty happy with the hood. Will get the final adjustment at the body shop after paint. Just wanted to share. |

Depends on the gaps... you can adjust the nuts that attach the hinges to the hood, the hinges on the chassis, the fenders, the squarish latches on the hood, the center turning rubber support, the adjustment knobs under the hood near the front on each side and lastly the top of the front bumper.

I never figured out how to adjust the hinges though — it's pretty crowded in that area. |

Quick update:
Got an Aluminum GTS hood from Horizon Motorsport, and I'd say the fitment is 8.5-9/10! Overall fitment is pretty good, and little adjustments were needed to be done. Very happy with the result! |

All the knock offs come from the same Chinese supplier
The companies who sell them online just drop ship them to your front door after taking their cut (Aluminum that is, not sure about carbon ones but likely same deal) |

OEM is your best bet for perfect fitment if you have the budget. I got my hood from horizon motor sport when they initially started offering these replica hoods some years ago. The fitment was ok but the vent was horrible. I had to buy the OEM vent to replace it but this was already anticipated.
