Replacing LCI tail lights with pre-LCI

Based on many posts in these forums I suspect I am in the minority here, but I wanted to confirm whether it is possible to replace the LCI tail lights with the pre-LCI version?

I just bought a 2018 M4 so I'm new to the forums here, but from the posts I've seen so far it seems like you need specific wiring harnesses to retrofit pre-LCI with LCI. I'm going to guess you would need some sort of reverse harness to use the pre-LCI on a 2018 M4, but I'm also guessing it doesn't exist?
