Can I get CarPlay coded into my F82?

I have a 2016 (built in feb 2016) F82 and I believe I have iDrive 4.2. Also have exec pack.

Is it possible to get Apple CarPlay coded/installed without getting a new headunit or excessive wiring?

I don't care about it being Bluetooth or through USB or if it takes up the full screen, just want it on my iDrive via USB if possible for navi and music.

Also, is it possible to update to iDrive 6? Are there hardware differences such as wiring & headunit or is it all coding etc.

Sorry if this info is all over this forum I'll keep looking to see if I can get an answer but I'm sure some of you members know this stuff in and out so you could get me a quick response.

You have NBT EVO ID4, and it is possible to update to iDrive 6 but your headunit has only 2GB RAM instead of native 4GB RAM, so it may sometimes reboot or be a little laggy. From my experience that happens really rarely. Past week I’ve done around 5 of this kind of updates and all of them are working fine. Everyone is happy because of CarPlay Fullscreen capability they’ve gained. One thing you need to add is WiFi antenna. Everything may remain, as it is only software change.

You do the coding? How much to do it to my F82?

Is a wifi antenna necessary if I don't care for bluetooth connection or internet access?

Yes as carplay uses Wi-fi to connect to your phone (bluetooth to initiate connection then wi-fi for everything else).

Yes it is, but to be honest I've done 15+ last month and I didn't have any complaints.

It is not possible to upgrade standard NBT.
Only NBT EVO ID4. There is a difference.

how does this affect warranty? i have 5 years warranty on my car ending in Feb 2021.
