I'd try warm water and saddle soap/lexol leather cleaner on a microfiber to clean that up.
I don't put any products on my wheel except leather cleaner. No conditioners. If the surface is actually eroded you can push for a warranty replacement but in general "trim" isn't considered warranty. |

I've literally googled all of these kinds of posts only to leave reviews of Leatherique. I just used it today and I'm amazed. It's magic.
My wheel looked exactly the same as yours. I got their dye kit and everything. I didn't even have to use it. Just used the rejuvenator and then wiped it clean with the cleaner. Make sure the leather is warm, use tons of the rejuvenator on it with you hands and massage it into the leather with a good amount of pressure. 10 minutes later you'll have a showroom wheel. I swear by this stuff. |

I would stay away from using any type of cleaning products on the steering wheel. I have learned that just a wet towel soaked with water works best. It might be too late in your case to reverse the damage although I would still try cleaning it with just rag and some plain ol' water and see if it improves.
Mine looks and feels much better since using just water to clean it. In the past I used conditioners and cleaners like others although for some reason the leather on the steering wheel is very sensitive to any conditioner/cleaning products seems like. Worst case its an excuse to upgrade your steering wheel. |
