I think I was the first guinea pig with these pads. I never thought the rears dusted much until I had run the fronts for a few thousand miles. Then I wanted the rears. Waited and waited until a couple of months ago and got the rears when they first came out. Changed them a month ago while my car was still in winter hibernation. Got the car out last week and first thing, went out and did the factory burnish procedure to the letter, just as I had when getting the fronts last summer. The fronts have never made a peep in over 4000 miles. Like others here, I have the slightest bit of squeal out of the rears for the first brake or two upon leaving the garage, then nothing after that. Certainly not loud and only for the first one or two brakes and nothing that is a bother. I did not apply any aftermarket anti-squeal to the backing plates. Certainly nice to have eliminated the OE pad dust on the rears!

Just thought I'd post an update on the slight noise from my new rear pads that I installed last winter while the car was in storage. As I mentioned above, a very slight squeal while backing the first couple of times after I took my car out of storage a month ago. I've put a 1000 miles on the car since then and not a peep out of the rears. So over 5000 miles on the front now and couldn't be happier with both the fronts and the rears.

Just put these pads on. Cleaned up the wheels too: full decon, clay, gloss coat, wax. Gotta love no brake dust. Feel is similar, if not the same, as OEM. Super easy DIY. No chipped paint. Sensors were no problem. Takes much longer to jack up the car.

Yep, got mine a few days ago. Probably going to wait until I get new tires to put them on.

Yep, this was all 4 wheels on one side of the rag. I used quick detailer to help lift the dust but you get the idea. I couldnt be happier. Brake performance is like OEM and not a peep.

So I tracked my car with these pads at VIR (I'm group D) and I can tell you they will survive a track day (I had to try I was too curious). I wouldn't go too crazy on them though. I was definitely noticing some fade when I was really pushing the brakes so I had to ease up a little. Was doing the full course so luckily there are several parts of that track where you can really cool them off. The funniest part was after almost 2 week of street driving and an additional 140 minutes of track time my wheels were still cleaner than a week of street driving on the OEM pads!

Wigaster: Nice to know on how they hold up on a track day. I found the same basic situation with ceramic pads on a 2004 Z-06 that I sometimes tracked. I paid attention and when I felt some softness coming into the brake pedal, I just backed off a touch, worked them less and let them cool off. Dick

Are these the only low-dust pads on the market for our calipers?

I don't think so. You can probably spend more, but to my knowledge ALL of us are very happy with these! I have over 4000 miles on my fronts and 1200 on the recently introduced rears and couldn't be happier.

I installed mine and they squeal like crazy on cold pads (when i frist drive the car) It is embarrassingly loud when I pull out of the garage, like a velociraptor dying. The whole neighborhood looks at me in bewilderment.
Is there any fix for the squealing. |
