I'm amazed at how much detail BMW put into the M3's bodywork. Look at the small flare on the rear 1/4 panel, above the taillight (top-right edge). It's much more pronounced and matches the seam of the trunk perfectly. That, coupled with the elongated horizontal line, going towards the rear pillar, makes the entire panel a complete, custom, work of art.

Nowhere as great as OP's..

But someone wanted to see the diff between an e46 Ci M Sport and the e46 M3, so just put this quickly together

The Evolution...

From the Ci M Sport, e46 M3, M3 CSL, M3 V8, M3 Turbo 6

I realize there is nothing proprietary or really special done, but this is quite possibly the single most useful and best idea I have seen in comparing models to date, from any board I have ever referenced. I would bet you have helped a number of decisions be made (including myself). Brilliant idea and thank you.

Impossible to choose between M3 and M4. Glad I need 4 doors or I would never be able to make up my mind.

Yes, its amazing how the culmination of parts/lines etc... all contribute to exude completely different characters, yet both look great in each their own respects.
