I have been trying for my own M as well as for a few customers on multiple occasions. I had a moment when DV was approved.

Thank you. I started driving the SMG back in 05 with my first ZCP e46 M3 to the modern M DCT cars. The e36 I fell in love with was a manual however and I felt this tribute had to have one as well.

To those who think 5k is a lot for a paint job. Go to a reputable bodyshop and ask them how much a full strip down repaint will cost you and then you will gladly pay BMW 5k to o do a factory job no paint shop can match.

It's such an underrated color. The only thing to consider is that it's quite high maintenance and not very easy to keep clean. My Techno Violet E36 almost looks black unless it's bright out.

Having said that though, I'd gladly own another one. Very few colors can look both vivid in the day, and classy at night as a good shade of purple such as Daytona or Techno.[/QUOTE]

It does look black at night and it does get a little dusty. It is a darker color, but I am always keeping it clean. Working at the dealership helps

That's unbelievable! According to the 'registry' Daytona Violet was only available on 95 M3s and all M3s after that were Techno Violet - Except for '97 M3 sedans made for South Africa only.

We have very similar tastes

Here's some pics of my 95 M3, Daytona Violet on Dove Grey. I tried to get a close up of the metallic flakes, the paint is 20 years old and has some swirl marks now

PS, can't wait to pick up my 228 MTP on June 8th!
