UK Delivery of M4 Competition Package - First in the UK?
Hi all,
I've not been on this forum for a few years now, after I sold my Interlagos E92 M3 and moved across to Audi with a couple of RS5s on the bounce (pre and post facelift models) and then most recently a C63 Edition 507 for 18mths (epic car!). But now, I'm back in a BMW, so please enjoy a few pics from earlier today, when I collected my Mineral White/ full Sakhir Orange M4 Competition Package. I also had the full M Performance kit fitted this morning, which I think finishes the car off nicely! The dealer told me that this was the first on UK roads, as it was intended to be their showroom princess, but I've no idea if he was just blowing smoke up my arse! Salesmen are salesmen, after all! And how does he really know who's doing what elsewhere in the country?? Either way, I'm sure this is one of the few for now. I'll admit that completely gutted to say goodbye to that crazy 6.2ltr V8, but hey, it's all about different experiences, right?? Last edited by workpermit; 03-31-2016 at 07:00 PM.. |

Dude, that's my car!
Sweet!
That's the color combination I ordered for mine, which I won't get until July 6th in Munich! I love the look of those SO seats against the white body. How do you like those seats? Are they comfortable?

No complaints about the seats at all. I've only managed to drive about 25 miles since I picked it up, so can't opine about long distance comfort, but I don't foresee any issues. Perfectly comfortable, with sufficient support and I love the electrically adjustable bolsters to get that perfect fit! The side bolsters probably aren't as 'aggressive' as those in my 507 for 'squeeze', but I certainly haven't noticed any lack of lateral support.
From memory I think the CP seats lack the lumbar adjustment, but let's be honest, when was the last time anyone messed about with their lumbar adjustment?? I'd say the cut out seats are probably more aesthetic than functional, but that works for me! They look really special. I've not done any interior pics since the wrapping was on, but if you want some I'll take some tomorrow and upload... Colour is a winner. You won't be disappointed! Looks amazing in person and pics don't do it justice. |

I'll take a few interior shots tomorrow and upload for sure.
What do you guys want? Pics from both front and back? As an aside, for any wondering about the CP "sports exhaust", I can report that it definitely has a deeper, more baritone sound than the normal set up, although I'm still coming to grips with it from a completely subjective standpoint having come directly from the 507. Digital vs. analogue I guess! More pics tomorrow... |

Thanks man. I'm one of those whose in and out of the family! A complete brand whore with no loyalties! Haha! I've had so many BMWs (E46 M3, 6er 645i convertible, X5 4.8is, E92 M3), which I've loved, but I'll go wherever the experience takes me, which means the usual suspects, such as Audi RS, Merc AMG, or Porsche.
I am really glad to be back, although I won't make any apologies for saying it may not be permanent if I think another brand is producing a product that peaks my interest! However, I will say, that there's nothing quite like an M car! There's just something different about them and I struggle to put my finger on it. Looking forward to shooting the shit with you guys for a while though. M owners are a different breed...and I absolutely love that! |

Not at all. It's actually quite well damped. Yes, it's stiff by normal standards, but not too much for this type of car. Perfectly acceptable in 'comfort' for a performance car in my opinion.

I hated the 666 wheels at first but now I see them more, they are really growing on me. Not that I am complaining but it makes me think I should have waited for the CPZ, oh well cant have EVERYTHING!
