Having some tire issues.. Really need some expert advice

I recently purchased Klassen M52R Forged Wheels, which I absolutely love. The wheels look and feel amazing. They are light, and exactly what I was looking for. I tried to be "smart" and get a good deal on tires and went with Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 2. At the time (a week ago) I thought "what a deal"! Now I am thinking "what an idiot!"

I have never been so disappointed with tires in my life. They are absolutely horrible, not to mention, square in some parts.

I have been feeling severe wheel vibration at high speeds, along with my DSC going off even just driving a bit fast on a windy road when my stock Mpss tires had absolutely no gripping issues on the same road. Bmw has done a successful alignment and road force balance, so that is not the issue.

My question is, is it the tires in general? Are they really this bad? Or did I just get a bad set like BMW says. Bmw checked them today and said 3/4 of the tires seem to not be perfectly round and put swapped my right and left tire. They said it helped but now it will create inward force in wet traction???

Wheel info

Front 9.5 ET 20

Rear 11 ET 40

Tire info

265/35/19
305/30/19

I plan to go to the tire shop tomorrow to demand an exchange and will get either Bridgestone rE011 or Mpss if a miracle happens.

Now I would really appreciate advice from people who know what they are talking about and not any "random thoughts or advice" please as I am not happy at all and about to flip out !!

Is it the size I chose or the tires? I've heard 265/35/19 and 305/30/19 are best with 9.5 and 11 because the diameter is the same but now I am hearing maybe it's not?? I just want the perfect size for performance and handling that won't cause DSC issues, but that also look flush!! Why is it soo hard to do this?

Of course you'll notice the difference coming from Michelins. No matter what mods you add, your entire experience is dictated by the 4 tiny patches in where the rubber meets the road. Tires are not the area to skimp on.

Who recommended V12s? It's not a terrible tire, but in no way a comparison to the Michelins when it comes to performance.

PSS has thick sidewalls as well so you will have a pretty square setup. Yokohama AD08R would fit your application perfectly.

Yes, I know. Honestly, nobody recommend them. I couldn't get michelins in time for when my wheels were ready and my only other option were Bridgestone Potenzas pole position that were a good deal but about to be discontinued... So I was worried about getting a flat and not having a replacement.

At this point Tom, what size would you recommend for my wheel width? I guess my tires are just a bad set? I've heard it's very rare for this to happen but BMW confirmed 3 of the 4 are bad and need to be replaced. They are brand new.

What do you recommend size wise if I go with Mpss or Bridgestone re011?

What size though? My options are:

1. Mpss (if not on back order)
2. Bridgestone RE011
3. Advans

The Bridgestones above are actually rates higher on tire rack.

We could not fit a 305 with the Klassens, you'll need to step down to a 295 to fit properly depending on tire brand/sidewall. Pirelli P Zero's are readily available in the 295/265 sizes.

Currently, we're running Toyo 888s on our MS03s.

Really? I have a 305 on my 11 inch rear wheel now. How could you not fit it on?

I thought a 265/35 and 295/35 isn't a good fit?

Depends on brand/sidewall. 888's are a very meaty tire.

Ahh I see. So for my car and wheel width and offset, what size do you think is best for performance exactly?

It's a tradeoff for tire wear vs performance - no free lunch here. Best performing tires will typically have the lowest lifespan as you're trading tire life for performance. Tire Rack has all this info posted on their site as they are fairly common questions.

Toyo 888s are an awesome tire but will be gone before you know it as its suited for the track, probably not the best tire for wet weather either. We ran Yokohama AD08s both on the street on our previous M3s as well as some track time and was very happy with the performance. Hankook RS3s are a good tire, but have limited sizing in 19".

Decide upon what's good for your particular budget.

I want to spend no more then $1350 and not expecting a lot of life but great performance. Maybe MPSS is my only option for what I want. That tire has never disappointed.

I learned the hard way too... Some Evo guy recommended them. Worst tire I've ever owned. Either PSS, RS3, or R888.

Yea some people love them man, I just don't get it. I am literally getting DSC and slip just driving normal around a windy road barely speeding. I don't even feel safe.

MPSS - best of the options if you don't track. Quiet, good grip, good in rain, last long.

RE-11 - Better at the track and better grip than PSS. Similar in comfort (noise, etc) but heavier and won't last as long. I have a set coming from TireRack now. These are also discontinued (which has now been confirmed) but I'll take my chances because I really like this tire as a dual purpose tire.

AD-08R - Better than the RE-11 as a performance tire but with more trade off in sound/harshness. These will likely be what I use after I kill the RE-11.

It all depends on what characteristics someone wants in their tires. IMO, if you don't track, then the very best option is the MPSS as it doesn't give up much, if any, street performance to the others but is more livable. The only place it under performs is the track.

IMO

Padfan9 do me a favor; get your MPSS rears in front and buy a pair of MPSS M5 specific in 295 and start enjoying your black beauty. You are going to be glad believe me.

That's what I'll do! 275/35 295/35? Or 30 height?

My only worry is the look. My current set up looks very flush. (265/35 and 305/30) with the side wall of the tire being perfectly flush with the wheel. I'm only afraid the 275 will bubble out and the 295 will allow the wheel to stick out too much. Not sure tho

Thanks bro! I think I'm just going to go with what I know and love. MPSS. Thanks for advice.

265/35/19 and 305/30/19 are the best sizes to go for the stock OD. If your going to go with 275/35/19 front go with 295/35/19 rear. If you go down to 30 in the rear it would have a lower OD than the front. Or you could go with 275/30/19 fronts and 295/30/19 rear. I did a lot of research and went with a 265/40/18 front and 305/35/18 rear which is essentially the same as the 19" but just in the 18" wheel size. My nitto 555r fit just fine on an 11" wheel but I have heard that nittos run a little smaller.

I have experience with the Advans and can say that they are really loud tires. IMO, I would go with the MPSS in 265 front and 305 rear (not sure if they make those sizes in MPSS though) or 275/30 and 295/30 (Definitely make these sizes in MPSS).
