Yeah I drove one 2-3 years ago before they made the tweaks. I definitely like the luxury but it felt big and ponderous (even compared to my X5 ) and as nice as it was it didn't feel $130k or whatever it was at the time.

Honestly my X5 doesn't really feel $130k either (the interior is nice but you definitely feel the let's-pimp-it-up-and-slap-leather-over-that-plastic), but it does feel way closer to me AND it has the benefit of being super functional for backwoods duty while still able to do size defying things when angry.

That said, when I replace the X5, at this point it'll either be an RS6 avant if I'm still spending a lot time in Canada or an RSQ8 if it's the US (I drove an 8 in the EU for a few days and it was WAY better than I thought)

EDIT: unless I can ED a Cayenne in Leipzig; then it'll be that

I never gotten anything better than a 3er/X3. Even Porsche gives me Macans... last time it was a 4er (yup... G22) because they ran out of cars.

All I remember my experience with the 8 series has been it drove and felt very large in size. Boat like, super floaty. Very much a GT car, but super large.

Same here, mostly 3er/X3's, although thankfully no awful X1's.

The 8er is definitely very very boaty, although while it drove large the cabin feels cramped (at least in the coupe) because of the small greenhouse, low roof, and lack of any sunroof. The convertible is honestly the most fitting of 8er variants since the car is more a straight line boulevard cruiser than anything and looks pretty decent with the top down. Plus the 50i models have a decent exhaust (surprisingly better than the M8). That being said, the previous gen 6er interior shits all over the 8er's interior despite the higher badge number and large price increase, and I think the exterior of the 6er is honestly better too.

MT Reasons:

(1.) For me the braun shaver look would be annoying
(2.) If you enjoy pedals, and you'll mostly be driving street, then pedals
(3.) Resale will probably be much higher with pedals

PDK Reasons:

* You're doing frequent track runs and time is a thing
* You're buying the car primarily as a competition hobby, i.e., you run against others

the CSL is lighter, 2 seater, rwd, laser tails, duckbill spoiler
the CS is the 4 door awd version

118k for what is basically an xdrive comp with a tune and CF hood.

Am I the only one that is very unimpressed with the CS?

Like they could have done more but didn’t type of vibe? And also, what’s with the limited selection of colors? For BMW that is almost a sin at this point.

Exactly...they said it weighs less by a whopping 75lbs...oh boy! Then you have all the red rocket look at me accents. The coolest thing about it are the gold 827M wheels. I may actually order a set of those to replace my 825Ms. The 827s are, despite being standard equipment on the CS/CSL, the cheapest G8X rims you can order - at well under $3k for the set online (wheels only). Let's hope the gold variants hold that trend!
