Would a spun crankhub render the car as a Rebuilt?

I'm still on warranty, considering if I want to upgrade my crankhub right now.

Most importantly, curious to know, if say my crankhub spins, possibly blowing the motor, if its repaired under warranty:

1) Would that affect the resale value?
2) Is that something that would show up on Carfax?
3) Would it changed the title to be a "rebuilt"?

Thanks!

It could affect warranty value depending on what shop did the work or if the buyer knows about the work. the latter depends on how the dealer/shop inputs the service description, I have come across a lot of Carfax service history reports with only reported odometer and dealer/shop name and location and no description of work done.

The title status would never change for any warranty work, insurance will have no visibility of that since they would never pay for that work.

Rebuilding or replacing a motor would show up on carfax, however, as a standard repair line. Your cars title would NOT be labeled as rebuilt or salvaged over a crankhub job, or engine replacement.
Vehicle titles are branded salvaged or rebuilt after the vehicle has endured excessive damage, to the point that your insurance company, would rather buy the car back from you, than pay for the repairs. Usually this means the repairs needed, total 50-60% the value of the car.

If you replace your motor, or repair your car out of pocket, then your title will not be branded.

If the car is under warranty, and you want to keep that warranty, leave the engine alone.

Ya, I don't plan on doing anything to the car at all actually, I considered doing the crankhub upgrade, but after some research felt like it's pointless because I'm going to keep the car stock. But just wondered if it'll affect resale value if the crankhub ends up spinning when I do a spirited drive and repaired under warranty

I don't believe your title status would change from a motor repair. On my last car I had my motor rebuilt 3 times for different issues like rocker arm knock, an issue with the cam shaft that jumped timing, and an oil leak if I can recall. My title was still showing up as a clean title after it was sold and put back on sale. I couldn't see the carfax report from that dealer unless I paid money but all I could see was like 20 service records.

When I sold it, I got the KBB value.

1) If you mention it.
2) It depends on who fixes it…
3) No.

I bought warranty with Axion from the dealership, so assuming if the crankhub spun and i need a new motor, it'll most likely go to the most reputable BMW service in my city.

With Axion, most likely you'll have the service done at the BMW dealership so I wouldn't worry about that.

Just double check your contract about what Axion would pay, such as if it would pay shop rate or if you need to pay the difference if the contract maxes out on a specific rate. Such as if your contract says you're covered up to 200 an hour but the dealership charges 250 an hour. You'll be on the hook for the difference.
