Anyone have this done at a shop in NOVA? Got quoted a stupid price just now.

We live in a stupid area where stupid people pay it. Its unfortunate. You could literally have your car transported to Cali and back with the crank hub done for less than what shops quote here.

My M4 is 8 years old with 42K miles now and I haven't done this maintenance. I do drive fairly aggressively at times. But - is there a point in the car's life where you think you've passed the danger zone for this kind of engine failure? I'm thinkin I probably won't do it at this point.
