7th Annual "Summer Sunrise" Drive 6/11/22, Bucks County PA
Wanted to again open this up to my local M brethren...As some of you know from last year, every 2nd weekend in June for the past 6 years a few of us local gearheads have done an early morning drive to celebrate and usher in the summer driving season. A group of us meet about 5:45am and usually leave about 6:15am and take a nice, sometimes "spirited" drive (on the roadways where is safe to do so) through the Bucks County River country (Delaware River) and then end our drive at a local coffee/bagel shop for a cars and coffee type event. It's a very scenic and picturesque drive and it's awesome that time of the morning to be driving as the sun is coming up (also very little traffic). The meeting point will be the same location as last year. Gratr Garage will be sponsoring this drive https://www.gratrgarage.com/ (UPDATED: We will be heading to the Deutsche Auto-kaffee Gruppe cars and coffee meet at the Panera Bread in Warrington PA. Gratr will be picking up the tab for coffee and some goodies!). Just wanted to get this out there so you can mark your calenders! If you intend to join us for the after drive event, please indicate you will be attending so I have a car count as sometimes space is limited. Thanks and look forward to seeing you all in June!
The meeting point will be: The meeting point is the parking lot in front of the Staples (between Staples and Chik-Fil-A) at: The Newtown Shopping Center 10 West Rd, Newtown PA 18940 This is about 10 mins off the Newtown Exit on I-295. Meeting date/time: Saturday June 11th between 5:45am and 6:15am. Drive begins at 6:20am. The Drive: Details will be posted here closer to the actual date. Destination: Deutsche Auto-kaffee Gruppe cars and coffee meet at Panera Bread. 1521 N Main St, Warrington, PA 18976

I was just thinking about this with the beautiful weather we've had this week. I'll be there.

Will hopefully have the route up in the next couple of weeks. It will probably be very similar to last year, if not the same. Have to check on the conditions of some of the roads.

The route is finished! A little different from last year, but I think its better! I avoided some areas on RT 32 (River Rd) that are in pretty rough shape and bypassed it with some nice back roads. I will post the route up probably midweek next week.
And...I will have a car to drive, but unfortunately I'm no longer in a BMW. Went with a nice used car of a different make. |
