Our initial 18” Group Buy is drawing to a close

As the deal comes to a close and many people submit orders in the final hours, time is running out for our staff to respond to questions. We’re trying to get back to people after normal business hours to support pledges, but this year the deal happens to end on New Years eve. Our staff will likely be unable to answer questions that come in after 4pm pacific on Friday. If you’re on the fence and have questions, please submit them asap so we can get back to you before the deal ends.

Feel free to respond to this thread or email us at experts@apexraceparts.com.

As our initial 18" Group Buy Draws to a close, we thought we'd share some shots of a track-prepped e92 M3 on our VS-5RS wheels. Be sure to get your pledge in before the Group Buy ends.

Our Initial Sprint Line Group Buy has closed. A huge thanks goes out to everyone that pledged and achieved the Max Discount. This was one of our most successful Group Buys to date and we can’t wait to see these wheels out in the wild. More Group Buys will be coming in the future with new fitments, diameters, and our EC-7RS design so look forward to those as well.

Technical Video

We prioritize brake clearance in all applications both for aftermarket and OE brake kits. Take a look at this brief video that dives into our data collection and development process used to make sure our wheels clear the most popular brakes of any kind.

With the first shipments of our Sprint™ Line wheels making their way into customers' hands, we’ve seen customer photos rolling in across social media. We love seeing these wheels in the wild and on your cars so keep them coming in!

Ashton (@ashtoncarlisle) sent in these images of his Satin Black 18x10 ET25 VS-5RS wheels wrapped in 275/35-18 NT01s mounted on his E90 M3 track car.

18x10 ET25 was an incredibly popular choice during our initial Group Buy with good reason. These wheels look right at home on this M3 and are a great front wheel option for the F8X M3/4s as well.

Though we focus on BMWs for these forum threads, we wanted to feature an APEX employee car as well. Our Market Research Manager Joe McGuigan (@joeMracing) picked up a set of our Mustang VS-5RS wheels in 18x10 ET40 wrapped with 275/35-18 Maxxis RC-1 R2 Tires for his Lexus ISF. The VS-5RS wheels are a great fit for these cars with centering rings and Joe put them to the test around Thunderhill East and West earlier this month.

When he's not parting the VTEC seas in Turn 14, Joe drives fitment testing and development for our new products and fitments here at APEX. He’s a massive Toyota fanboy at heart and even 2 additional doors and a bit of extra heft (from the car of course!) hasn’t slowed him down that much.

If you’d like to send us photos of your Sprint™ Line wheels, feel free to email them to Experts@apexraceparts.com. If you’d like to participate in a photoshoot or test fitment, submit an application on our new volunteer form.

Lastly, we know a ton of you are eagerly waiting for 19” Sprint™Line wheels. We recently received 19” sample wheels and photoshoots are underway to support our upcoming Group Buys. Here is a sneak peek:

Keep an eye on these threads and our Social Media channels and website for more information!

The first round of Sprint Line customer-submitted photos are rolling in and we're loving it! Check out @bcaing_’s F82 M4 on a set of staggered VS-5RS wheels in Anthracite finish.

Fitment Specs:
Front: 18x10” ET25 w/ 275/35-18 and a 5mm spacer
Rear: 18x11” ET44 w/ 295/35-18 and a 15mm spacer
Tires: Continental Extreme Contact Sport

If you’d like to send us photos of your Sprint™ Line wheels, feel free to email them to Experts@apexraceparts.com.
We are still looking for more photoshoot volunteers for various BMW chassis. If you’d like to participate in a photoshoot or test fitment, submit an application on our new volunteer form.

We have another behind-the-scenes look at an APEX photoshoot for those of you curious about the process. This video documented an amazing build and photoshoot we did featuring the Magic Developed E46 Endurance race car on our Sprint Line VS-5RS wheels:

Our customer Greyson (@deity.46) sent in these shots of his new set of VS-5RS wheels on his F80. While staggered fitments are a common option for these cars, this 18x10 ET25 square setup looks undeniably fantastic on a set of Anthracite VS-5RS wheels.

Wheels: VS-5RS
Front & Rear: 18x10 ET25

Tires: Yokohama Advan APEX
Front & Rear: 275/40-18

We have a 19" Group buy that will be going live later this month. We may run another Group Buy on the 18s in the future depending on availability and new shipments. These wheels won't be arriving for a while though so if you need an 18" VS-5RS set right away, I would recommend ordering them at MSRP.

We’ve loved seeing all of our M car customers on these VS-5RS wheels, but it's about time we showed some non-M chassis some love. Our Customer Liza (@htemup_b58) sent in these shots of her 440i F36 Gran coupe on an aggressive staggered set of our 18” VS-5RS wheels:

Wheels: Brushed Clear VS-5RS
Front: 18x9 ET30
Rear: 18x9.5 ET35

Tires:
Front: 255/40-18 Michelin PSS
Rear: 275/35-18 Hankook Z214 C5

This staggered setup is a great fit for her big turbo build and the wheels really look stunning on the 4 series platform.

Our 19” photoshoots are still underway to support the upcoming Group Buy. We can’t share the photos yet, but these wheels look great on the BMWs and other makes we’ve seen them on thus far and we’re excited to share them with you shortly. If you’re in the bay area and are interested in volunteering for an APEX photoshoot, our online form is still live!

Currently we plan on getting the 19” Group Buy live later this month with the first release of our EC-7RS design in the BMW market alongside the VS-5RS wheels. Stay tuned!

With 22 days left in our ongoing 19” Group Buy, we wanted to feature a few non-M 3 and 4 series on our 19x9 ET30 VS-5RS wheels. This is the least aggressive width and offset that we are launching during this Group Buy making it an excellent OEM+ option for front M-car fitment or square fitments on non-M 3 & 4 series detailed below.

Wheels: 19x9 ET30 VS-5RS in Brushed Clear Front & Rear
Tires: 245/35-19 Michelin PS4S

Can I get a ballpark on international shipping cost for the VS-5RS in the 20"
To New Zealand.

In the market for new wheels and wondering if I should wait for the 20s to be released.

Getting huge variation on shipping costs from the various US retailers I've enquired through for other wheels.

We can't provide quotes for the 20" wheels yet for a few reasons:

We don't have the final packed weights and dimensions yet. This is usually verified by our warehouse when we receive the production wheels in their final packaging and can make a critical difference for more expensive shipments to New Zealand.

Shipping costs at the moment are also extremely variable. With the 20" wheels arriving in August, any shipping quote I provide at the moment likely won't be accurate in 3-4 months time. Our website is currently showing $830.00 USD for a set of 4 19" wheels (staggered M4 fitment) to a random zip code in new Zealand, but I'm not sure how the 20" equivalents will compare. One other thing to note is that our shipping costs displayed on the website do not include importation taxes.

Thanks for that.
Are those shipping costs on your website fairly accurate?

That's a good indication as I've been quoted anywhere from $600 - $3,000+ for shipping from other US retailers

Yes, they are extremely accurate for the wheels you have loaded in the cart, but the 20" wheels can't yet be calculated for the reasons listed above so their cost will vary.
