It’s a sports sedan/coupe. Looks matter. You can say the look of the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio front grill is subjective - some like it, some don’t. I happen to like it. The 880/82 is an abomination. You’d have to be blind to to think that isn’t ugly. Nothing subjective at all about how ugly it is.

Colour is subjective the overall look and design is not.

riddle me this batman
are paintings subjective? if they are not , then how a car LOOKS cannot possibly be OBJECTIVE

How can anybody argue that looks/style/aesthetics AREN'T subjective?!? That's a ridiculous statement.

I do like the performance and interior more than I like the exterior for the Guilia. The Model 3's are so ridiculously quiet and some of the most comfortable seats - but not the most supportive. I was a little turned off by the lack of Android Auto and premium monthly services.

There’s subjective tastes and their is universally butt ugly. I can’t think of too many other sports sedan/coupes that have an uglier front end than the G80/82. People have compared to it to the LExus. Well the Lexus LC500 has Ferrari design appeal when compared to the G80/82. I almost like the side view, but even that doesn’t hang together. Interior looks great. Performance will probably be great. But it is unquestionably FUGLY!

I’m sure there are people who were cross-eyed and high that liked the Lada. That’s where we are with the front of this car. The grill is atrocious, the hood is busy and not not really functional.

Again, what you deem as "universally" ugly is still a subjective assessment. Beauty is, and always will be, in the eye of the beholder.

Sure. I guess - I guess there will always be chubby chasers who would prefer Rosanne Barr to Salma Hayek or Angelina Jolie. The G80/82 are probably the ugliest BMW’s I’ve seen. They would have been better suited to put the new engine on an i8 type design. There you got a beautiful body with crap performance and engine.

But if you were to take a poll f80/82 exterior vs g80/82 - I think the results would be close to universally preferring the F80/82. Just as if you took a poll, Jolie/Hayek vs Barr, don’t see Barr getting too many votes.

Well you can use extremes if it makes you feel better. Considering how many heavy set people I see in relationships while subjectively better looking people flounder and continue to fall short of the mark, the former must be doing something right.

What if the LCI changed its front bumper completely?

I may have just gotten a glimpse of M3 LCI

Didn’t get picture of front but IT WAS NOT THE HUGE GRILL 😃

So what happened was...my son FaceTime’d me and said there was a BMW mule and he walked around the car. I saw the front bumper expecting to see the large grill and it wasn’t there.

Told him to hang up and get pictures but as he was taking them, apparently they came back to the cars and shooed him away before he could get it. THE main picture I wanted too!! Oh well. Maybe you guys can keep an eye out over by So. Cal.

Do share! It would seriously make a huge difference if they revised the whole front bumper and grille design.

Goes to F80 thread on getting banned for negative G80 opinions.

Claims to share these opinions.

Claims his opinion is also objective.

Blows up thread to defend absurd position.

Hey this thread is comedy gold. Not sure how I have not been banned from the G80 side yet but I have been stealth moderated quite a few times.

G80 is the first M3 I wont even consider buying since the E46. Just sad how ugly it is.

The F80 had two major flaws to me sound and steering feel. I doubt the G80 fixes either so it just adds a third being butt ugly. F80 would make me swoon when I looked at it at least.

The G8x forum is dead because they banned most members like myself. 👎

Banning ppl will not make the car any less ugly. They should actually encourage us to voice our disgust so BMW can update the styling before its too late.

The BMW M Instagram is now flagging posts for deletion that are criticizing the G80. I stopped in to offer my $.02 and the app warned me my 🤮 emoji was similar to other posts that had been reported. Only positive comments are surviving.

So just took my car for service and finally saw the 4series base non-Msport coupe. It is VERY bad - worse than pics. I feel bad for sales ppl there - they were trying to say that BMW is going back to its roots with the huge grill.

Here is a pic of the disaster:

Yep, saw one in person as well and its bad, and the m-sport actually looks worse I think.

I even drove it, it doesn't feel like a BMW at all, pretty sad.

That is a very subjective assessment of the grill🤫.
.... but is it really that subjective when practically everyone hates it?🤔
What other new car that has been released - not readily available, as is the case wi the the case of the G80/H82 M3/4 that already has third party manufacturers building replacement bumper/grills that aren’t so Fugly?? I also read that it is rumoured BMW is going to change the grill that EVERYONE other then the design team hates.

Also saw one at my local BMW dealer. I actually did a double take when I saw it. At first glance, I thought it was weird that there was a non-BMW in the service tunnel--I didn't even realize it was a BMW. That in itself says something (to me).

Then the reality sank in and I realized it WAS a BMW...which made it even worse.
