No, definitely not unexpected. I have seen some at MSRP, but the majority of them have been marked up.

Wow, that’s ridiculous. As if depreciation on a car like that isn’t bad enough already. Cool car, but not likely to become collectible/appreciate...

Agreed, marked up doesn’t makes sense, especially considering that the M5 gets heavily discounted.

I love Audis and have owned close to 2 dozen over the years (B5 S4 sedan and wagon, B6 S4 sedan and wagon, multiple B7 RS4s). I love Audi wagons, but this is nuts. It's slower than an M5 Comp or E63S AMG but costs more. Comparable in price to a Panamera ST Turbo S (or Turbo S E-Hybrid).

I really don't get it, and this coming from a big Audi fan. For $184k, you could import an RS2, B5 RS4, and have enough cash left over for a brand new RS5 Sportback. Or a used R8 V10+ 6MT.

some nutty markup prices out there. But its going to be far more limited than an M5 or AMG. Not sure if this is true but i thought all RS6s were going to be built to order ? It should keep demand high for the near future.

Limited or not, a marked up RS6 does not make sense when compared to the competition. What are Audi thinking? Do they want the performance wagon to succeed in the US or not ?

The markups aren't just on the RS6 but also the RSQ8, I've seen one as high as $155k, even used ones with miles are going for high prices (one even at $170k).

The biggest markups I've seen recently is on the G-Wagon. I believe they sold out of the entire 2021 model year and are taking orders for 22's, some at $75k over! As stupid as the ADM's are it seems G-Wagon customers simply want the vehicle, I know someone who is paying $40 over for a G63.

That was my thought exactly!! I know this may be far fetched, but it makes me wonder even more that with dealer markups that most of the RS6’s will be sitting on dealer lots, and Audi turns around and says ‘we told you that it wouldn’t work in the US.’
Who knows.....

Yeah, it is quite crazy. The one for $184k was the biggest markup I found on Autotrader within a 500 mile radius of where I live. Most others were between $140k-$150k, and that in itself is way to much. Like I said before, bringing the RS4 Avant over first may have been the wiser choice.

Audi seems much more aggressive with pricing in Canada. Our well specced RS6 comes out at 99k USD including destination and fees while a comparably equipped M5 (not fully loaded) comes out at 104k USD.

184k for an RS6 . That’s nuts. My nicely specced 992turbo comes out at 165k USD
