What's a realistic "good" price for low mileage specimen?

To be honest, the non-private resale/trade-in has me worried. I'm not looking to invest, but would at least like SOME equity for the future. And even at used prices, it's a huge hit. Yeesh.
Specimen... lol.

For an F80 CS with low miles?

Upper 60's/Low 70's

It doesn’t have any accident history and appears to be in good shape with an original msrp of over $100,000. It’s from a large national retailer and I’m guessing they don’t know what they have. I was looking for an M3 in the low 40’s but this seems like too good a deal to pass up. It’s certainly more than I want to spend but can afford it as of now. If things do go south I feel like I can at least break even on it after driving it for even a year. Does anyone know what these cars actually trade for? Lots are listed for sale as cs but actually are not. Cheapest I could find was mid $60s with way more miles. Am I completely crazy? Thanks in advance.
I suggest posting the car here and asking people if they owned the car. at that point if you find the previous owner, ask if they had any major issues. good luck

I'm in the market now for an M3cs and am gravitating towards a lease takeover. If I go that route I'm looking at average of $15k in lease costs plus average of $62k residual for total of $77k. Purchase options I'm seeing are running high 70s to mid-80s. I'm thinking the advantage of lease takeover is opportunity to exit a year plus down road if, for some reason, I'm not completely satisfied or just want to do something different. Spec also comes into play as I would want blue or black.

Short term lease gets you a put option so that has value.

CS values have held on very well. The period where dealers pushed out the remaining new cars is long gone and now that there isnt much supply, prices are up there. G80 release may change things but if you keep this car for medium long term you will win.

This is exactly what I just did. Just took over an SMB M3CS with 15 months left, if in 14 months I want to keep it, I'll keep it, if not, I have an easy out.

That's a good deal IMO. Many 18 ZCPs are selling for low to mid sixties with similar miles.

the car is long gone, which is not surprising. They just about gave it away compared to what others are selling for.

A bit of a bump, but I'm looking for some info on how M3 CS values are doing.

My lease is up in a few months, and I'm leaning towards buying it out (around 70k).

My other option is letting it go for an X3/Macan and waiting out next steps... but I also feel like this is my last IC car before EV.

I don't see a lot of stock out there now, so I'm feeling holding onto this rare beast might play out well in the long-term.

I think the values are leveling off, I just picked up a very clean AW CS w what some would consider higher mileage (32k miles) but I don’t mind the miles since I know all the maintenance was done and it just didn’t sit for 3yrs

I paid mid 60’s than add transport and full PPF and I’m right around the 70k number

Since you’re the original owner and you have full history of the car 70k seems like a good number for sure and it’s really much nicer than a macan which I cross shopped as well

In my opinion you can’t get hurt owning it @70k
