I'll only consider it when my lease is up... But most likely, no. I like the M3. The M2 has an odd looking front bumper, and i'm not a fan of a 2-door car

The M2 is a great car on its own, but I won't be moving from the M4 platform currently in the stable.
Wishing the best to all future M2 owners. Guaranteed blast I am sure. |

Yeah I'm out. As a DD driving 60 miles a day, did it before with an STI, no thanks. As a "weekend toy" then maybe, but if it has so much road noise then why does it weigh so much?

Of course not. The wife barely allowed you to get the M3. She'd never permit an M2

How dare you utter such blasphemy..
jk. I wouldn't..it's just too small and not that proportional of a car. It looks awkward from the side and the interior space is just not enough. Sticking with my F80. I don't care if this car is capable of smoking me on the track either lol. |

My favorite is the people that say the S55, F8x sounds like shit... and those same people say the M2 sounds WORLDS better.... ....right.... GTFO!
I have an N55, granted with stock exhaust. I have heard N55s with M performance among other exhausts. Its meh IMO. S55> "upgraded" N55, in both sound and performance.

This thread in particular isn't too bad yet.
FWIW, I buy M cars because they're great handling cars that are fun to drive on a road course. The current M4 is leaning more toward being a grand tourer rather than a sports coupe due to its size. That said, it still is great fun on the track. The M2 weighs basically the same as the M4, but it has a shorter wheelbase. This gives it a lower polar moment of inertia, which should result it in feeling more nimble. It's not a stretch to think that it may prove to be the better handling car of the two. In that way, I don't think that the M2 is necessarily a "downgrade". I also don't think that a M6 is an "upgrade" over a M4. |

I can't help but agree with this. The M2 doesn't really sound that different from a stock M3/M4 at all, but yet, the "World's better!" comments get thrown around. It's pretty darn silly.

From a price point/options/prestige/quality perspective, the M2 is a downgrade and the M6 is an upgrade. There's no other way to slice that loaf. Now, from the perspective of what an individual needs from a vehicle, that's where you have to factor in the subjective aspects.
