The pakcages make a huge difference.

DHP/ZCP, tech, premium, and M Sport changes everything.

Pity it costs a ton.

Funny though, for me, I had an M3 with Novilla leather and I personally prefer my dakota leather in my 335. I don't care if it's "supple"(god I hate that word), soft or whatever, I care how it holds up to using the car and Novilla just doesn't compared to the dakota. I'll take feeling "cheaper" slightly, to my seats not looking like a 90 year old woman's skin who tanned too much after 60,000 miles.

We'll bmw price structure is very different from audi. It is what it is. When I said entry I wasn't considering the price.
Extending your logic, then, the Porsche Carrera is an "entry level" 911 but I don't think the OP meant it in that context.

Frankly, I care more about performance and handling dynamics of a car than luxury components like the feel of the door handle or feel of leather. However, I can understand the OP's point that a $48K car is not really entry level by general definition and certainly not a $70-90K M3/M4 by most definitions, and thus the quality of materials should reflect accordingly. Makes sense to me.

Well I took a 435i (MSRP @$62K) out for a test drive and I was impressed with it overall. The leather in it sucked but other than that it was nice and tight, the design of the dash was nice, M wheel felt good in my hands and the nav was slick and looked good. They've really poured the tech into these newer BMW's compared to my old RS4.

It handled real flat and the front end dug in on a decreasing radius turn. The electric steering was a little numb but was acceptable. It had acceptable power for a DD.

The scale of the car imo was perfect. It seemingly felt larger than the prior 3 series but smaller then the 5. For my 6'0 200lb frame the interior size of the car is the sweet spot.

Looking forward to ordering my M4.

IMO, the M3/M4 requires the Full Leather option. That what happens when you try to sell a $30,000-bracket interior at $90,000.

Sorry-ass plastics just can't make it...
